Розділ 3

1 Чи нам знов зачинати дору́чувати самих себе́? Чи ми потребуємо, як дехто, листів доруча́льних до вас чи від вас?

2 Ви наш лист, написаний у наших серцях, якого всі люди знають і читають!

3 Виявляєте ви, що ви — лист Христів, нами вислужений, що написаний не чорнилом, але Духом Бога Живого, не на табли́цях камінних, але на тіле́сних табли́цях серця.

4 Таку ж певність до Бога ми маємо через Христа,

5 не тому́, що ми здібні поми́слити щось із се́бе, як від себе, але наша здібність від Бога.

6 І Він нас зробив бути здатними служи́телями Ново́го Заповіту, не букви, а Духа, — бо буква вбиває, а Дух оживля́є.

7 Коли ж служі́ння смерті, вирізане на каменях буквами, було таке славне, що Ізра́їлеві сини не могли дивитись на обличчя Мойсея, через славу мину́щу обличчя його,

8 скільки ж більш буде в славі те служі́ння Духа!

9 Бо як служі́ння о́суду — слава, то служіння праведности тим більше багате на славу!

10 Не просла́вилося бо прославлене, у цій частині, ради слави, що вона переважує,

11 бо коли славне те, що минає, то багато більш у славі те, що триває!

12 Тож, мавши надію таку, ми вживаємо великої сміли́вости,

13 а не як Мойсей, що покрива́ло клав на обличчя своє, щоб Ізраїлеві сини не дивилися на кінець того, що минає.

14 Але засліпилися їхні думки́, бо те саме покрива́ло аж до сьогодні лишилось незняте в чита́нні Старо́го Заповіту, бо зникає воно Христо́м.

15 Але аж до сьогодні, як читають Мойсея, на їхньому серці лежить покрива́ло,

16 „коли ж вони наве́рнуться до Господа, тоді покрива́ло здіймається“.

17 Госпо́дь же — то Дух, а де Дух Господній, — там воля.

18 Ми ж відкритим обличчям, як у дзеркало, дивимося всі на славу Господню, і зміняємося в той же образ від слави на славу, як від Господа Духа.

1 Do we begin756 again3825 to commend4921 ourselves?1438 or2228 3361 need5535 we, as some5100 others, letters1992 of commendation4956 to you, or2228 letters of commendation4956 from you?

2 You are our letter1992 written1449 in our hearts,2588 known1097 and read314 of all3956 men:444

3 For as much as you are manifestly5319 declared5319 to be the letter1992 of Christ5547 ministered1247 by us, written1449 not with ink,3188 but with the Spirit4151 of the living2198 God;2316 not in tables4109 of stone,3035 but in fleshy4560 tables4109 of the heart.2588

4 And such5108 trust4006 have2192 we through1223 Christ5547 to God-ward:4314

5 Not that we are sufficient2425 of ourselves1438 to think3049 any5100 thing as of ourselves;1438 but our sufficiency2426 is of God;2316

6 Who3739 also2532 has made2427 us able2427 ministers1249 of the new2537 testament;1242 not of the letter,1121 but of the spirit:4151 for the letter1121 kills,615 but the spirit4151 gives life.2227

7 But if1487 the ministration1248 of death,2288 written1722 1121 and engraved1795 in stones,3037 was glorious,1722 1391 so5620 that the children5207 of Israel2474 could1410 not steadfastly816 behold816 the face4383 of Moses3475 for the glory1391 of his countenance;4383 which3588 glory1391 was to be done2673 away:2673

8 How4459 shall not the ministration1248 of the spirit4151 be rather3123 glorious?1722

9 For if1487 the ministration1248 of condemnation2633 be glory,1391 much4183 more3123 does the ministration1248 of righteousness1343 exceed4052 in glory.1391

10 For even2532 that which was made1392 glorious1392 had no3761 glory1392 in this5129 respect,3313 by reason1752 of the glory1391 that excels.5235

11 For if1487 that which is done2673 away2673 was glorious,1223 1391 much4183 more3123 that which remains3306 is glorious.1722 1391

12 Seeing then3767 that we have2192 such5108 hope,1680 we use5530 great4183 plainness3954 of speech:

13 And not as Moses,3475 which put5087 a veil2571 over1909 his face,4383 that the children5207 of Israel2474 could not steadfastly816 look816 to the end5056 of that which is abolished:2673

14 But their minds3540 were blinded:4456 for until891 this4594 day4594 remains3306 the same846 veil2571 not taken3361 348 away343 in the reading320 of the old3820 testament;1242 which3748 veil is done2673 away2673 in Christ.5547

15 But even2193 to this4594 day,4594 when2259 Moses3475 is read,314 the veil2571 is on their heart.2588

16 Nevertheless1161 when2259 it shall turn1994 to the Lord,2962 the veil2571 shall be taken4014 away.4014

17 Now1161 the Lord2962 is that Spirit:4151 and where3757 the Spirit4151 of the Lord2962 is, there1563 is liberty.1657

18 But we all,3956 with open343 face4383 beholding2734 as in a glass2734 the glory1391 of the Lord,2962 are changed3339 into the same846 image1504 from glory1391 to glory,1391 even as by the Spirit4151 of the LORD.2962

9 Бо як служі́ння о́суду — слава, то служіння праведности тим більше багате на славу!

17 Госпо́дь же — то Дух, а де Дух Господній, — там воля.
