1 Коли я говорю́ мовами лю́дськими й а́нгольськими, та любови не маю, — то став я як мідь та дзвінка́ або бу́бон гудя́чий!

2 І коли маю дара пророкува́ти, і знаю всі таємни́ці й усе знання́, і коли маю всю віру, щоб навіть гори переставля́ти, та любови не маю, — то я ніщо!

3 І коли я роздам усі маєтки свої, і коли я відда́м своє тіло на спа́лення, та любови не маю, — то пожитку не матиму жа́дного!

4 Любов довготе́рпить, любов милосе́рдствує, не за́здрить, любов не величається, не надима́ється,

5 не пово́диться нечемно, не шукає тільки свого, не рветься до гніву, не ду́має лихо́го,

6 не радіє з неправди, але тішиться правдою,

7 усе зно́сить, вірить у все, сподіва́ється всього, усе те́рпить!

8 Ніко́ли любов не перестає! Хоч пророцтва й існують, — та припи́няться, хоч мови існують, — замо́вкнуть, хоч існує знання́, — та скасу́ється.

9 Бо ми знаємо части́нно, і пророкуємо частинно;

10 коли ж досконале настане, тоді зупиниться те, що частинне.

11 Коли я дити́ною був, то я говорив, як дити́на, як дити́на я ду́мав, розумів, як дитина. Коли ж мужем я став, то відкинув дитя́че.

12 Отож, тепер бачимо ми ніби у дзе́ркалі, у за́гадці, але по́тім — обличчям в обличчя; тепер розумію частинно, а по́тім пізна́ю, як і пі́знаний я.

13 А тепер залиша́ються віра, надія, любов, — оці три. А найбільша між ними — любов!

1 Corinthians

Chapter 13

1 Though1437 I speak2980 with the tongues1100 of men444 and of angels,32 and have2192 not charity,26 I am become1096 as sounding2278 brass,5475 or2228 a tinkling214 cymbal.2950

2 And though1437 I have2192 the gift of prophecy,4394 and understand1492 all3956 mysteries,3466 and all3956 knowledge;1108 and though1437 I have2192 all3956 faith,4102 so5620 that I could remove3179 mountains,3735 and have2192 not charity,26 I am1510 nothing.3762

3 And though1437 I bestow5595 all3956 my goods5224 to feed5595 the poor,4434 and though1437 I give3860 my body4983 to be burned,2545 and have2192 not charity,26 it profits5623 me nothing.3762

4 Charity26 suffers3114 long,3114 and is kind;5541 charity26 envies2206 not; charity26 braggs4068 not itself, is not puffed5448 up,

5 Does not behave807 itself unseemly, seeks2212 not her own,1438 is not easily provoked,3947 thinks3049 no3756 evil;2556

6 Rejoices5463 not in iniquity,93 but rejoices4796 in the truth;225

7 Bears4722 all3956 things, believes4100 all3956 things, hopes1679 all3956 things, endures5278 all3956 things.

8 Charity26 never3763 fails:1601 but whether1535 there be prophecies,4394 they shall fail;2673 whether1535 there be tongues,1100 they shall cease;3973 whether1535 there be knowledge,1108 it shall vanish2673 away.2673

9 For we know1097 in part,3313 and we prophesy4395 in part.3313

10 But when3752 that which is perfect5046 is come,2064 then5119 that which is in part3313 shall be done2673 away.2673

11 When3753 I was a child,3516 I spoke2980 as a child,3516 I understood5426 as a child,3516 I thought3049 as a child:3516 but when3753 I became1096 a man,435 I put2673 away2673 childish3516 things.

12 For now737 we see991 through1223 a glass,2072 darkly;1722 135 but then5119 face4383 to face:4383 now737 I know1097 in part;3313 but then5119 shall I know1921 even2531 as also2532 I am known.1921

13 And now3570 stays3306 faith,4102 hope,1680 charity,26 these5023 three;5140 but the greatest3187 of these5130 is charity.26
