2 когда Вефиль1004410 послал7971 Сарецера8272 и Регем-Мелеха7278 и спутников582 его помолиться2470 пред лицем6440 Господа3068

3 и спросить559 у священников,3548 которые в доме1004 Господа3068 Саваофа,6635 и у пророков,5030 говоря:559 «плакать1058 ли мне в пятый2549 месяц2320 и поститься,5144 как я делал6213 это уже много лет?8141»

4 И было ко мне слово1697 Господа3068 Саваофа:6635

5 скажи559 всему народу5971 земли776 сей и священникам3548 так: когда вы постились6684 и плакали5594 в пятом2549 и седьмом7637 месяце, притом уже семьдесят7657 лет,8141 для Меня ли вы постились?6684 для Меня ли?

6 И когда вы едите398 и когда пьете,8354 не для себя ли вы едите,398 не для себя ли вы пьете?8354

7 Не те же ли слова1697 провозглашал7121 Господь3068 через3027 прежних7223 пророков,5030 когда еще Иерусалим3389 был3427 населен3427 и покоен,7961 и города5892 вокруг5439 него, южная5045 страна и низменность,8219 были3427 населены?3427

8 И было слово1697 Господне3068 к Захарии:2148

9 так говорил559 тогда Господь3068 Саваоф:6635 производите8199 суд4941 справедливый571 и оказывайте6213 милость2617 и сострадание7356 каждый376 брату251 своему;

10 вдовы490 и сироты,3490 пришельца1616 и бедного6041 не притесняйте6231 и зла7451 друг376 против друга251 не мыслите2803 в сердце3824 вашем.

11 Но они не3985 хотели3985 внимать,7181 отворотились541438025637 от Меня, и уши241 свои отяготили,3513 чтобы не слышать.8085

Zechariah

Chapter 7

1 AND it came to pass in the fourth year of King Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, which is Canun,

2 When they had sent to Beth-el, Sherezar and Rab-mag, and the king and his mighty men had sent word to pray for him before the LORD,

3 And to speak to the priests who were in the house of the LORD of hosts and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

4 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5 Speak to all the people of the land and to the priests, saying, When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months, for these seventy years, did you at all fast to me?

6 And when you did eat and when you did drink, did you not eat for yourselves and drink for yourselves?

7 These were the very words which the LORD proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, when her towns were round about her and when the mountains and plains were inhabited.

8 And the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying,

9 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother;

10 And do not oppress the widow nor the orphan, the poor nor the proselyte; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in his heart.

11 But they refused to hearken, they rebelled and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

12 Yea, they made their hearts like adamant, lest they should hear the law, and the ordinances which the LORD of hosts has sent in his Spirit by the former prophets; therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

13 Since I have called them and they would not hear, so they shall call me and I will not listen, says the LORD of hosts.

14 And I scattered them among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, without any one to pass through it and without an inhabitant, because they made the pleasant land a desolation.
