Глава 33

1 Иаков взглянул и увидел, что идёт Исав, и вместе с ним ещё 400 человек. Группы: Лия со своими детьми была в одной, Рахиль с Иосифом были в другой, а в двух других были две служанки со своими детьми.

2 Тогда Иаков поставил служанок с их детьми первыми, Лию с её детьми — позади служанок, а Рахиль с Иосифом — последними.

3 Сам Иаков пошёл перед ними, кланяясь до земли раз, пока не подошёл к брату.

4 Увидев Иакова, Исав побежал ему навстречу, заключил его в объятия, обнял за шею и поцеловал, и оба они заплакали.

5 Исав взглянул и, увидев женщин с детьми, спросил: «Кто все эти люди с тобой?» «Дети, которых Бог послал мне по Своей милости», — ответил Иаков.

6 Затем обе служанки вместе с детьми подошли к Исаву и поклонились ему,

7 потом к нему подошла Лия с детьми и поклонилась ему, а потом и Рахиль с Иосифом подошли и поклонились Исаву.

8 Исав спросил: «Кто были все те люди, которых я видел по дороге? И откуда весь этот скот?» «Это мои дары тебе, чтобы ты принял меня», — ответил Иаков.

9 Но Исав сказал: «Тебе незачем приносить мне дары, брат, у меня у самого достаточно всего».

10 Иаков же ответил: «Нет, прошу тебя, если ты в самом деле принимаешь меня, то прими и дары, которые я приношу тебе. Я очень счастлив снова видеть твоё лицо — как будто вижу лик Бога. Я очень счастлив, что ты принимаешь меня,

11 и потому, прошу, прими также и мои дары тебе. Бог был милостив ко мне, и у меня добра больше, чем мне нужно». Иаков упросил брата, чтобы тот принял дары, и Исав принял их.

12 После этого Исав сказал: «Теперь можешь продолжать свой путь, а я пойду с тобой».

13 Иаков ответил: «Ты видишь, что мои дети обессилели, к тому же я должен поберечь мелкий скот и его приплод. Если я буду гнать его целый день, то все животные погибнут.

14 Ты иди вперед, а я пойду за тобой не спеша, чтобы не подвергать опасности крупный скот и остальных животных и чтобы дети не устали, и встречусь с тобой в Сеире».

15 «Тогда я оставлю тебе в помощь часть моих людей», — сказал Исав, но Иаков ответил: «Велика твоя доброта, но в этом нет нужды».

16 В тот же день Исав отправился в обратный путь в Сеир,

17 а Иаков направился в Сокхоф. Там он построил дом для себя и небольшие загоны для скота, потому-то и назвали это место Сокхоф.

18 Иаков благополучно завершил путешествие из Падан-Арама. Придя в город Сихем, в Ханаанской земле, он поставил стан в поле перед городом,

19 купив это поле у семьи Еммора, отца Сихема, за 100 серебряных монет.

20 На этом месте Иаков поставил алтарь для поклонения Богу и назвал это место «Эл, Бог Израиля».

Chapter 33

1 AND Jacob raised his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau was coming, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and the two maids.

2 Then he brought the maids and their children to the front, and Leah and her children next, and kept Rachel and Joseph in the rear.

3 And he himself went on before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

4 And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him; and they wept.

5 Then Esau raised his eyes and saw the women and the children, and said, Where did you get these? And Jacob said to him, They are the children whom God has graciously given your servant.

6 Then the maids drew near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.

7 And Leah also with her children drew near, and bowed themselves; and afterwards came Rachel and Joseph who also drew near, and bowed themselves.

8 And Esau said to Jacob, Where did you get all this company which I met? And Jacob said to him, Because I have found favor in the sight of my lord.

9 Then Esau said to him, I have plenty, my brother; keep what you have to yourself.

10 But Jacob said to him, If now I have found mercy in your sight, then receive my present from my hands; because now I have seen your face, as I saw the face of an angel, and you were pleased with me.

11 Now accept my blessings that I have brought to you; because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And Jacob urged him, and he did accept them.

12 Then Esau said to him, Let us depart, and go, and I will go before you.

13 But Jacob said. My lord knows that the children are too young, and that the flocks and herds with young are with me; and if I should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.

14 Let my lord pass before his servant, and I will travel slowly, according to the pace of the cattle which are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.

15 And Esau said to him, Let me leave with you some of the men that are with me. But Jacob said, What need have I for them? Let me find mercy in the sight of my lord.

16 So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir.

17 And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built himself a house, and made sheepfolds for his cattle; therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.

18 And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came forth from Padan-aram; and encamped before the city.

19 And he bought a parcel of a field from the children of Hamor, father of Shechem, for a hundred ewes.

20 And he pitched his tent there, and erected an altar, and called it El-Alaha di Israel (God, the God of Israel).

7 And Leah also with her children drew near, and bowed themselves; and afterwards came Rachel and Joseph who also drew near, and bowed themselves.

8 Исав спросил: «Кто были все те люди, которых я видел по дороге? И откуда весь этот скот?» «Это мои дары тебе, чтобы ты принял меня», — ответил Иаков.

8 And Esau said to Jacob, Where did you get all this company which I met? And Jacob said to him, Because I have found favor in the sight of my lord.

9 Но Исав сказал: «Тебе незачем приносить мне дары, брат, у меня у самого достаточно всего».

9 Then Esau said to him, I have plenty, my brother; keep what you have to yourself.

10 Иаков же ответил: «Нет, прошу тебя, если ты в самом деле принимаешь меня, то прими и дары, которые я приношу тебе. Я очень счастлив снова видеть твоё лицо — как будто вижу лик Бога. Я очень счастлив, что ты принимаешь меня,

10 But Jacob said to him, If now I have found mercy in your sight, then receive my present from my hands; because now I have seen your face, as I saw the face of an angel, and you were pleased with me.

11 и потому, прошу, прими также и мои дары тебе. Бог был милостив ко мне, и у меня добра больше, чем мне нужно». Иаков упросил брата, чтобы тот принял дары, и Исав принял их.

11 Now accept my blessings that I have brought to you; because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And Jacob urged him, and he did accept them.

12 После этого Исав сказал: «Теперь можешь продолжать свой путь, а я пойду с тобой».

12 Then Esau said to him, Let us depart, and go, and I will go before you.

13 Иаков ответил: «Ты видишь, что мои дети обессилели, к тому же я должен поберечь мелкий скот и его приплод. Если я буду гнать его целый день, то все животные погибнут.

13 But Jacob said. My lord knows that the children are too young, and that the flocks and herds with young are with me; and if I should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.

14 Ты иди вперед, а я пойду за тобой не спеша, чтобы не подвергать опасности крупный скот и остальных животных и чтобы дети не устали, и встречусь с тобой в Сеире».

16 So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir.

17 а Иаков направился в Сокхоф. Там он построил дом для себя и небольшие загоны для скота, потому-то и назвали это место Сокхоф.
