Глава 11

1 Один человек, которого звали Лазарь, был болен. Он был из Вифании, селения, где жили Мария и ее сестра Марфа.

2 Мария и была той женщиной, что помазала Господа ароматическим маслом и вытерла Его ноги своими волосами. И вот ее брат Лазарь был болен.

3 Сестры передали Иисусу: — Господи, тот, кого Ты любишь, болен.

4 Когда Иисус услышал об этом, Он сказал: — Эта болезнь не к смерти, она для славы Божьей, чтобы Сын Бога был прославлен через нее.

5 Иисус любил Марфу, ее сестру Марию и Лазаря.

6 Однако когда Он узнал, что Лазарь болен, то пробыл там, где Он тогда находился, еще два дня.

7 Затем Он сказал Своим ученикам: — Пойдем обратно в Иудею.

8 — Рабби, — сказали они Ему, — иудеи ведь еще недавно хотели побить Тебя камнями, а Ты хочешь туда возвратиться?

9 Иисус ответил: — Разве не двенадцать часов в сутках светло? Тот, кто ходит днем, не споткнется, потому что он видит свет этого мира.

10 А тот, кто ходит ночью, споткнется, потому что в это время темно.

11 Сказав это, Иисус добавил: — Наш друг Лазарь заснул, но Я иду разбудить его.

12 Ученики Его сказали: — Господи, если он спит, значит, выздоровеет.

13 Иисус говорил им о том, что Лазарь умер, но ученики думали, что Он говорит о сне обыкновенном.

14 Тогда Он сказал им прямо: — Лазарь умер.

15 Ради вас и ради того, чтобы вы поверили, Я рад, что Меня там не было. Но сейчас пойдем к нему.

16 Тогда Фома, которого еще называли Близнец, сказал остальным ученикам: — Пойдем и мы и умрем с Ним!

17 Придя туда, Иисус узнал, что тело Лазаря уже четыре дня в могиле.

18 Вифания была стадиях в пятнадцати от Иерусалима,

19 и к Марфе с Марией пришло много иудеев, чтобы выразить свое соболезнование по поводу смерти их брата.

20 Когда Марфа услышала, что пришел Иисус, она пошла встретить Его, а Мария осталась дома.

21 — Господи, — сказала Марфа Иисусу, — если бы Ты был здесь, то мой брат не умер бы.

22 Но я знаю, что Бог и сейчас даст Тебе все, что бы Ты ни попросил.

23 Иисус сказал ей: — Твой брат воскреснет.

24 Марфа ответила: — Я знаю, что он воскреснет в День воскресения, в последний День.

25 Иисус сказал ей: — Я — воскресение и жизнь. Тот, кто верит в Меня, если и умрет — оживет,

26 а кто живет и верит в Меня, тот никогда не умрет. Ты этому веришь?

27 — Да, Господи, — сказала она, — я верю, что Ты Христос, Сын Бога, Который пришел в мир.

28 Сказав это, Марфа вернулась, отозвала свою сестру в сторону и сказала: — Учитель здесь, Он зовет тебя.

29 Когда Мария это услышала, она тут же побежала Ему навстречу.

30 Иисус еще не вошел в селение и стоял там, где Марфа Его встретила.

31 Когда иудеи, бывшие с ней в доме и утешавшие ее, заметили, как она быстро встала и вышла, они пошли за ней, решив, что она пошла к могиле плакать.

32 Мария пришла туда, где был Иисус, и, увидев Его, упала к Его ногам, говоря: — Господи, если бы Ты был здесь, мой брат бы не умер.

33 Иисус, видя, что плачет и она, и иудеи, которые с ней, и Сам сильно расстроился и опечалился.

34 — Куда вы его положили? — спросил Он. — Пойдем, и Ты Сам увидишь, Господин, — сказали они.

35 Иисус заплакал.

36 Иудеи говорили между собой: — Смотрите, как Он его любил.

37 Некоторые, однако же, говорили: — Неужели Он, Который открыл глаза слепому, не мог сделать так, чтобы этот человек не умер?

38 Иисус, все еще печальный, пошел к могиле. Это была пещера в скале, ко входу которой был привален камень.

39 — Уберите камень, — велел Он. Марфа, сестра умершего, сказала: — Господи, но там ведь уже тяжелый запах — Лазарь четыре дня как в могиле.

40 Тогда Иисус сказал: — Разве Я не говорил тебе, что если ты будешь верить, то увидишь Божью славу?

41 Тогда камень убрали. Иисус же посмотрел на небо и сказал: — Отец, благодарю Тебя за то, что Ты услышал Меня.

42 Я знаю, что Ты всегда слышишь Меня, но Я сказал это ради тех, кто стоит здесь, чтобы они поверили, что Ты послал Меня.

43 Сказав это, Иисус громко позвал: — Лазарь, выходи!

44 Умерший вышел. Его руки и ноги были обвязаны погребальными полотнами, а лицо закрыто платком. — Развяжите его, пусть он идет, — сказал Иисус.

45 Многие из иудеев, которые пришли навестить Марию и видели, что сделал Иисус, поверили в Него.

46 Но некоторые из них пошли к фарисеям и рассказали им обо всем, что сделал Иисус.

47 Первосвященники и фарисеи тогда созвали совет. — Что нам делать? — спрашивали они. — Этот Человек творит много знамений.

48 Если мы позволим Ему продолжать, то все поверят в Него, и тогда римляне придут и уничтожат и наш храм, и наш народ.

49 Кайафа, один из них, который в тот год был первосвященником, сказал: — Вы ничего не понимаете!

50 Вы не можете понять, что лучше для вас, чтобы один человек умер за народ, чем погиб бы весь народ.

51 Он сказал это не от себя, но, будучи в тот год первосвященником, он изрек пророчество о том, что Иисус умрет за народ,

52 и не только за иудейский народ, но и для того, чтобы собрать воедино рассеянных повсюду детей Божьих.

53 С этого дня они стали думать, как убить Иисуса.

54 И поэтому Иисус уже не ходил открыто среди иудеев. Он ушел в местность, расположенную недалеко от пустыни, в город Ефрем. Там Он и остался со Своими учениками.

55 Приближался иудейский праздник Пасхи, и многие жители страны шли в Иерусалим для обрядового очищения перед Пасхой.

56 Они искали Иисуса и, стоя в храме, спрашивали друг друга: — Как вы думаете? Он, наверняка, не придет на праздник?

57 А первосвященники и фарисеи отдали распоряжение о том, что если кто-либо узнает, где находится Иисус, то должен сообщить им, чтобы они могли арестовать Его.

Chapter 11

1 NOW there was a man who was sick, Lazarus of the town of Bethany, the brother of Mary and Martha.

2 This is the Mary who anointed the feet of Jesus with perfume and wiped them with her hair. Lazarus who was sick, was her brother.

3 His two sisters therefore sent to Jesus, saying, Our Lord, behold, the one whom you love is sick.

4 Jesus said, This is not a sickness of death, but for the sake of the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified on his account.

5 Now Jesus loved Martha and Mary and Lazarus.

6 When he heard he was sick, he remained two days in the place where he was.

7 After that he said to his disciples, Come, let us go again to Judaea.

8 His disciples said to him, Teacher, not long ago the Jews wanted to stone you, and yet are you going there again?

9 Jesus said to them, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walks by day time, he will not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

10 But if a man travels at night time, he will stumble, because there is no light in it.

11 Jesus said these things; and after that he said to them, Our friend Lazarus is asleep; but I am going to awake him.

12 His disciples said to him, Our Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well.

13 But Jesus spoke of his death; and they thought that what he said was sleeping in bed.

14 Then Jesus said to them, plainly, Lazarus is dead.

15 And I am glad I was not there, for your sakes, so that you may believe; but let us walk there.

16 Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, Let us also go, and die with him.

17 So Jesus came to Bethany, and he found that he had been four days in the tomb.

18 Now Bethany was towards Jerusalem, a distance of about two miles.

19 And many Jews kept coming to Martha and Mary, to comfort their hearts concerning their brother.

20 When Martha heard that Jesus had come, she went out to meet him; but Mary sat in the house.

21 Then Martha said to Jesus, My Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

22 But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, he will give you.

23 Jesus said to her, Your brother will rise up.

24 Martha said to him, I know he will rise up in the resurrection at the last day.

25 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, even though he die, he shall live.

26 And whoever is alive and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?

27 She said to him, Yes, my Lord; I do believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come to the world.

28 And when she had said these things, she went away and called her sister Mary secretly, and said to her, Our teacher has come, and he is calling you.

29 When Mary heard it, she rose up quickly and came to him.

30 Jesus had not yet come into the town, but he was still at the same place where Martha met him.

31 The Jews also who were with her in the house, comforting her, when they saw Mary rise up quickly and go out, followed her, for they thought she was going to the tomb to weep.

32 When Mary came where Jesus was, and saw him, she threw herself at his feet, and said to him, My Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews weeping, who had come with her, he was moved in his spirit, and was greatly disturbed.

34 And he said, Where have you laid him? They said to him, Our Lord, come and see.

35 And Jesus was in tears.

36 The Jews then said, Look, how much he loved him!

37 Some of them said, Could not this man, who opened the eyes of that blind man, have also kept this man from dying?

38 As Jesus was disturbed in himself because of them, he came to the tomb. That tomb was a cave, and a stone was placed at the entrance.

39 Jesus said, Take away this stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, My Lord, he is already disfigured, for he is dead four days.

40 Jesus said to her, Did not I say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?

41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted his eyes upwards, and said, O Father, I thank you for you have heard me,

42 And I know that you always hear me; but I say these things just because of this people who stand around, so that they may believe that you have sent me.

43 And when he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come outside.

44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with burial clothes; and his face bound with a burial napkin. Jesus said to them, Loose him and let him go.

45 Many of the Jews who had come to Mary, when they saw what Jesus had done, believed in him.

46 And some of them went to the Pharisees, and told them everything Jesus had done.

47 So the high priests and the Pharisees gathered together and said, What shall we do? for this man does many miracles?

48 If we allow him to continue like this, all men will believe in him; and the Romans will come and take over both our country and our people.

49 But one of them, called Caiaphas, who was the high priest for that year, said to them, You know nothing;

50 Nor do you reason that it is much better for us that one man should die instead of the people, and not all the people perish.

51 He did not say this of himself; but because he was the high priest for that year, he prophesied that Jesus had to die for the sake of the people;

52 And not only for the sake of the people, but also to gather together the children of God who are scattered abroad.

53 And from that very day, they decided to kill him.

54 Jesus therefore did not walk openly among the Jews, but went away thence to a place which is close to the wilderness, in the province of Ephraim; and he remained there with his disciples.

55 Now the Jewish passover was at hand; and many went up from the towns to Jerusalem, before the feast, to purify themselves.

56 And they were looking for Jesus, and at the temple they kept saying to one another, What do you think, will he not come to the feast?

57 But the high priests and the Pharisees had already commanded, that if any man should know where he is, to let them know, so that they might seize him.

6 Однако когда Он узнал, что Лазарь болен, то пробыл там, где Он тогда находился, еще два дня.	6 When he heard he was sick, he remained two days in the place where he was.
7 Затем Он сказал Своим ученикам: — Пойдем обратно в Иудею.	7 After that he said to his disciples, Come, let us go again to Judaea.
8 — Рабби, — сказали они Ему, — иудеи ведь еще недавно хотели побить Тебя камнями, а Ты хочешь туда возвратиться?	8 His disciples said to him, Teacher, not long ago the Jews wanted to stone you, and yet are you going there again?
9 Иисус ответил: — Разве не двенадцать часов в сутках светло? Тот, кто ходит днем, не споткнется, потому что он видит свет этого мира.	9 Jesus said to them, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walks by day time, he will not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
10 А тот, кто ходит ночью, споткнется, потому что в это время темно.	10 But if a man travels at night time, he will stumble, because there is no light in it.
11 Сказав это, Иисус добавил: — Наш друг Лазарь заснул, но Я иду разбудить его.	11 Jesus said these things; and after that he said to them, Our friend Lazarus is asleep; but I am going to awake him.
12 Ученики Его сказали: — Господи, если он спит, значит, выздоровеет.	12 His disciples said to him, Our Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well.
13 Иисус говорил им о том, что Лазарь умер, но ученики думали, что Он говорит о сне обыкновенном.	13 But Jesus spoke of his death; and they thought that what he said was sleeping in bed.
14 Тогда Он сказал им прямо: — Лазарь умер.	14 Then Jesus said to them, plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 Ради вас и ради того, чтобы вы поверили, Я рад, что Меня там не было. Но сейчас пойдем к нему.	15 And I am glad I was not there, for your sakes, so that you may believe; but let us walk there.
16 Тогда Фома, которого еще называли Близнец, сказал остальным ученикам: — Пойдем и мы и умрем с Ним!	16 Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, Let us also go, and die with him.
17 Придя туда, Иисус узнал, что тело Лазаря уже четыре дня в могиле.	17 So Jesus came to Bethany, and he found that he had been four days in the tomb.
18 Вифания была стадиях в пятнадцати от Иерусалима,	18 Now Bethany was towards Jerusalem, a distance of about two miles.

21 — Господи, — сказала Марфа Иисусу, — если бы Ты был здесь, то мой брат не умер бы.	21 Then Martha said to Jesus, My Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
22 Но я знаю, что Бог и сейчас даст Тебе все, что бы Ты ни попросил.	22 But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, he will give you.
23 Иисус сказал ей: — Твой брат воскреснет.	23 Jesus said to her, Your brother will rise up.
24 Марфа ответила: — Я знаю, что он воскреснет в День воскресения, в последний День.	24 Martha said to him, I know he will rise up in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Иисус сказал ей: — Я — воскресение и жизнь. Тот, кто верит в Меня, если и умрет — оживет,	25 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, even though he die, he shall live.
26 а кто живет и верит в Меня, тот никогда не умрет. Ты этому веришь?	26 And whoever is alive and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?
27 — Да, Господи, — сказала она, — я верю, что Ты Христос, Сын Бога, Который пришел в мир.	27 She said to him, Yes, my Lord; I do believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come to the world.
28 Сказав это, Марфа вернулась, отозвала свою сестру в сторону и сказала: — Учитель здесь, Он зовет тебя.	28 And when she had said these things, she went away and called her sister Mary secretly, and said to her, Our teacher has come, and he is calling you.

38 Иисус, все еще печальный, пошел к могиле. Это была пещера в скале, ко входу которой был привален камень.	38 As Jesus was disturbed in himself because of them, he came to the tomb. That tomb was a cave, and a stone was placed at the entrance.

41 Тогда камень убрали. Иисус же посмотрел на небо и сказал: — Отец, благодарю Тебя за то, что Ты услышал Меня.	41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted his eyes upwards, and said, O Father, I thank you for you have heard me,
42 Я знаю, что Ты всегда слышишь Меня, но Я сказал это ради тех, кто стоит здесь, чтобы они поверили, что Ты послал Меня.	42 And I know that you always hear me; but I say these things just because of this people who stand around, so that they may believe that you have sent me.
43 Сказав это, Иисус громко позвал: — Лазарь, выходи!	43 And when he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come outside.
44 Умерший вышел. 46 Но некоторые из них пошли к фарисеям и рассказали им обо всем, что сделал Иисус.	46 And some of them went to the Pharisees, and told them everything Jesus had done.
47 Первосвященники и фарисеи тогда созвали совет. — Что нам делать? — спрашивали они. — Этот Человек творит много знамений.	47 So the high priests and the Pharisees gathered together and said, What shall we do? for this man does many miracles?
48 Если мы позволим Ему продолжать, то все поверят в Него, и тогда римляне придут и уничтожат и наш храм, и наш народ.	48 If we allow him to continue like this, all men will believe in him; and the Romans will come and take over both our country and our people.
49 Кайафа, один из них, который в тот год был первосвященником, сказал: — Вы ничего не понимаете!	49 But one of them, called Caiaphas, who was the high priest for that year, said to them, You know nothing;

53 С этого дня они стали думать, как убить Иисуса.	53 And from that very day, they decided to kill him.
54 И поэтому Иисус уже не ходил открыто среди иудеев. Он ушел в местность, расположенную недалеко от пустыни, в город Ефрем. Там Он и остался со Своими учениками.	54 Jesus therefore did not walk openly among the Jews, but went away thence to a place which is close to the wilderness, in the province of Ephraim; and he remained there with his disciples.

57 А первосвященники и фарисеи отдали распоряжение о том, что если кто-либо узнает, где находится Иисус, то должен сообщить им, чтобы они могли арестовать Его.	57 But the high priests and the Pharisees had already commanded, that if any man should know where he is, to let them know, so that they might seize him.
