Глава 14

1 Хирам, царь Тирский, прислал к Давиду послов, и кедровых дерев, и умеющих тесать каменья для стен, и плотников, чтобы построить ему дом.

2 И узнал Давид, что Господь утвердил его царем над Израилем, и что высоко возносится царство его для народа его, Израиля.

3 И взял Давид еще жен в Иерусалиме, и родил Давид еще сыновей и дочерей.

4 Вот имена детей, которые родились от него в Иерусалиме: Шаммуй, Шовав, Нафан, Соломон;

5 Ивхар, Елишуй, Елфалет,

6 Ногаг, Нефаг, Иафия,

7 Елишама, Ваелиада и Елифалет.

8 Филистимляне услышали, что Давид помазан в цари над всем Израилем, и пошли все Филистимляне искать Давида. Давид, услышав сие, пошел против них.

9 И пришли Филистимляне, и расположились на долине Рефаимской.

10 И вопросил Давид Бога, и сказал: идти ли мне против Филистимлян, и предашь ли их в руку мою? Иди: Я предам их в руку твою.

11 И пришли в Ваал-Перацим, и там поразил их Давид, и сказал Давид: рассеял Бог врагов моих рукою моею, как вода разбегается. Потому нарекли имя месту тому: Ваал-Перацим.

12 И оставили они там богов своих, которые, по приказанию Давида, сожжены огнем.

13 Филистимляне опять пришли, и расположились на долине.

14 И еще вопросил Давид Бога, и сказал ему Бог: не преследуй их, уклонись от них, и подойдешь к ним от шелковичных дерев.

15 И когда услышишь на вершинах шелковичных дерев шум шествия, тогда вступи в битву, потому что Бог пойдет пред тобою, чтобы поразить стан Филистимский.

16 И сделал Давид так, как повелел ему Бог, и поразили стан Филистимский от Гаваона даже до Газера.

17 Чрез это имя Давидово пошло по всем землям, и Господь сделал его страшным для всех народов.

Chapter 14

1 NOW Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build a house for him.

2 And David perceived that the LORD had chosen him to be king over Israel, for his kingdom was exalted because of his people Israel.

3 And David took more wives in Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron, and there were born to him more sons and daughters.

4 Now these are the names of the children who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shocob, Nathan, and Solomon.

5 Ibhar, Elisha, Eliphalet.

6 Nogah, Nepheg, and Naphia,

7 And Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphalet.

8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

9 And the Philistines came and encamped in the valley of giants.

10 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into my hands? And the LORD said to him, Go up; for I will deliver them into your hands.

11 So they came up to the valley of Toretha, and David smote them there. Then David said. The LORD has broken in upon my enemies before me like the breaking forth of waters; therefore they called the name of that place the valley of Toretha.

12 And when they had left their idols there, David gave a commandment to his mighty men, saying. Burn them with fire and scatter their ashes to the wind.

13 And the Philistines came up again and encamped in the valley of giants.

14 Therefore David inquired again of God; and God said to him, You shall not go up after them; but turn away from them, and go attack them from the front.

15 And it shall be, when you hear the sound of howling in the top of the mountain, then you shall go out to battle; for the LORD has gone forth before you to smite the army of the Philistines.

16 And David therefore did as the LORD commanded him; and they smote the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gadar.

17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all the nations.

8 Филистимляне услышали, что Давид помазан в цари над всем Израилем, и пошли все Филистимляне искать Давида. Давид, услышав сие, пошел против них.

8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

9 И пришли Филистимляне, и расположились на долине Рефаимской.

9 And the Philistines came and encamped in the valley of giants.

10 И вопросил Давид Бога, и сказал: идти ли мне против Филистимлян, и предашь ли их в руку мою? Иди: Я предам их в руку твою.

10 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into my hands? And the LORD said to him, Go up; for I will deliver them into your hands.

11 И пришли в Ваал-Перацим, и там поразил их Давид, и сказал Давид: рассеял Бог врагов моих рукою моею, как вода разбегается. Потому нарекли имя месту тому: Ваал-Перацим.

11 So they came up to the valley of Toretha, and David smote them there. Then David said. The LORD has broken in upon my enemies before me like the breaking forth of waters; therefore they called the name of that place the valley of Toretha.

14 Therefore David inquired again of God; and God said to him, You shall not go up after them; but turn away from them, and go attack them from the front.

15 И когда услышишь на вершинах шелковичных дерев шум шествия, тогда вступи в битву, потому что Бог пойдет пред тобою, чтобы поразить стан Филистимский.

15 And it shall be, when you hear the sound of howling in the top of the mountain, then you shall go out to battle; for the LORD has gone forth before you to smite the army of the Philistines.

16 И сделал Давид так, как повелел ему Бог, и поразили стан Филистимский от Гаваона даже до Газера.

17 Чрез это имя Давидово пошло по всем землям, и Господь сделал его страшным для всех народов.
