Глава 24

1 Вновь разгневался ГОСПОДЬ на израильтян и поднял на них Давида, сказав: «Иди пересчитай израильтян и иудеев!»

2 Тогда царь сказал Йоаву, военачальнику при нем и его войске: «Обойди все племена Израилевы от Дана до Беэр-Шевы и проведи перепись, чтобы мне знать точное число народа».

3 Йоав ответил царю: «Да умножит ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, твой народ и станет его больше, чем нынче, и пусть еще во сто крат умножит его на глазах у владыки моего царя — но зачем это владыке моему царю?»

4 Но слово царя перевесило слова Йоава и других военачальников, так что Йоав с военачальниками отправился по приказу царя проводить перепись народа Израилева.

5 Они перешли Иордан и расположились станом у Ароэра, к югу от города, в долине Гад, по пути к Язеру.

6 Затем пришли они в Гилад, вошли в землю Тахтим-Ходши, двинулись дальше в Дан-Яан и в окрестности Сидона.

7 Достигнув укреплений Тира, вошли они во все города хивитов и ханаанеев и дошли даже до южной пустыни иудейской, до Беэр-Шевы.

8 Так обошли они всю страну и по прошествии девяти месяцев и двадцати дней вернулись в Иерусалим.

9 Йоав представил царю перепись народа, и оказалось, что в Израиле восемьсот тысяч воинов, способных носить меч, а в Иудее — пятьсот тысяч.

10 После этого нехорошо стало на сердце у Давида, что пересчитал он народ. И сказал Давид ГОСПОДУ: «Согрешил я тяжко тем, что сделал это! Но теперь, ГОСПОДИ, прости вину слуге Твоему. Я поступил весьма безрассудно!»

11 Когда Давид встал поутру, было слово ГОСПОДА к пророку Гаду, провидцу Давидову:

12 «Ступай, возвести Давиду, что так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: „Я позволю тебе избрать одну из трех бед, выбери, что сделать с тобой“».

13 Гад пришел к Давиду и сказал ему: «Выбирай, быть ли голоду семь лет в твоей стране, или три месяца скрываться тебе от врагов, что будут гнаться за тобой, или три дня быть поветрию моровому в стране твоей. Рассуди и реши, что мне передать Пославшему меня».

14 Давид ответил Гаду: «Велико горе мое, но лучше попасть мне в руки ГОСПОДА, ведь милосердие его безмерно, только бы не попасть в руки людей».

15 ГОСПОДЬ обрушил моровое поветрие на Израиль с утра и до назначенного времени, и погибло из народа от Дана до Беэр-Шевы семьдесят тысяч человек.

16 Ангел смерти простер руку и над Иерусалимом, чтобы опустошить его, но ГОСПОДЬ пожалел об этом бедствии и повелел ангелу, губившему народ: «Довольно, опусти руку». Ангел был тогда над самим гумном Аравны-евусея.

17 Давид, увидев ангела, поражавшего народ, сказал ГОСПОДУ: «Это я согрешил, моя вина, а эти люди — овцы, что сделали они? Против меня подними Свою руку и против рода отца моего!»

18 В тот день пришел Гад к Давиду и сказал ему: «Иди и воздвигни ГОСПОДУ жертвенник на гумне Аравны-евусея».

19 Давид отправился туда по слову Гада, как и велел ГОСПОДЬ.

20 Когда Аравна увидел, что к нему приближается царь со своими слугами, он вышел навстречу царю и поклонился до земли.

21 «Зачем пришел владыка мой царь к своему слуге?» — спросил Аравна. «Хочу купить у тебя гумно, — ответил Давид, — чтобы воздвигнуть там жертвенник ГОСПОДУ и отвести моровое поветрие от народа».

22 Аравна сказал Давиду: «Пусть возьмет владыка мой, царь, для жертвы всё, что ему приглянется: смотри, вот скот, чтобы принести жертву, вот молотильные салазки с упряжью — на дрова».

23 Всё это Аравна отдавал царю даром, и еще сказал Аравна царю: «Да будет ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, милостив к тебе».

24 Но царь ответил Аравне: «Нет, я заплачу тебе за всё. Не стану приносить ГОСПОДУ, Богу моему, то всесожжение, которое ничего мне не стоило». И Давид купил гумно вместе со скотом за пятьдесят шекелей серебра.

25 Давид воздвиг там жертвенник ГОСПОДУ, принес всесожжения и благодарственные жертвы — ГОСПОДЬ внял мольбе о стране, и моровое поветрие не губило более народ израильский.

2 Samuel

Chapter 24

1 AND again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he incited David against them and said to him, Go, number Israel and Judah.

2 So the king said to Joab the commander of the army who was with him. Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beer-sheba and number the people, and bring to me the sum of the number of the people.

3 And Joab said to the king, May the LORD your God add to the people a hundredfold, howsoever many they be, so that the eyes of my lord the king may see it; but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?

4 Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab and against the commanders of the army. And Joab and the commanders of the army went out from the presence of the king to number the people of Israel.

5 And they crossed the Jordan and came to Sharob, which is on the right side of the city that lies in the midst of the valley of Gad and toward Eleazer;

6 Then they came to Tyre and Zidon, to the land of the Canaanites and the land of the Hittites and the land of the Jebusites,

7 And when they had gone through the whole land, they came to the land of Judah in thirty-eight days. Then they came to Dan, and circled Zidon.

8 And when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

9 And Joab brought the sum of the number of the people to the king; and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

10 But David's heart smote him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD, I have sinned greatly in what I have done; and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, for I have done very foolishly.

11 When David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, saying,

12 Go and say to David, Thus says the LORD: I will bring upon you one of three calamities; choose one of them, that I may do it to you.

13 So the prophet Gad came to David and said to him, These are the calamities which may come upon you: there shall seven years of famine come in your land, or you shall flee three months before your enemies while they pursue you, or there shall be three days of pestilence in your land. Now therefore say what answer I shall return to him who sent me to you.

14 Then David answered and said to the prophet Gad, I am greatly distressed; it is better for me to be punished by the hand of the LORD our God; for his mercies are great: let us not be punished by the hand of men.

15 So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning until the evening; and there died of the people from Dan to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men.

16 And when the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD restrained the angel of death who was destroying the people, and said to him, You have destroyed enough, stay now your hand. And the angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Aran the Jebusite.

17 Then David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who smote the people, and said to the angel, I have sinned and I have given provocation; but these innocent sheep, what have they done? Let thy hand be against me, and against my father's house.

18 And Gad the prophet came that day to David and said to him, Go up and build an altar to the LORD in the threshing floor of Aran the Jebusite.

19 And David went up, according to the word of Gad, as the LORD had commanded him.

20 And when Aran the Jebusite turned back and saw the king and his servants coming toward him, Aran fell down and did obeisance to the king with his face to the ground.

21 And Aran said, Why has my lord the king come to his servant? And David said to him, To buy the threshing floor from you, to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.

22 Then Aran said to David, Let my lord the king take what seems good to him; behold, here are the oxen for the burnt offering, and the ploughshare and the yokes for fuel.

23 All these things did Aran give to King David. And Aran said to the king, May the LORD your God bless you.

24 And the king said to Aran, No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; and I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God of that which cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor by the garden and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

25 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.

1 AND again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he incited David against them and said to him, Go, number Israel and Judah.

2 Тогда царь сказал Йоаву, военачальнику при нем и его войске: «Обойди все племена Израилевы от Дана до Беэр-Шевы и проведи перепись, чтобы мне знать точное число народа».

2 So the king said to Joab the commander of the army who was with him. Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beer-sheba and number the people, and bring to me the sum of the number of the people.

3 Йоав ответил царю: «Да умножит ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, твой народ и станет его больше, чем нынче, и пусть еще во сто крат умножит его на глазах у владыки моего царя — но зачем это владыке моему царю?»

3 And Joab said to the king, May the LORD your God add to the people a hundredfold, howsoever many they be, so that the eyes of my lord the king may see it; but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?

4 Но слово царя перевесило слова Йоава и других военачальников, так что Йоав с военачальниками отправился по приказу царя проводить перепись народа Израилева.

4 Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab and against the commanders of the army. And Joab and the commanders of the army went out from the presence of the king to number the people of Israel.

5 Они перешли Иордан и расположились станом у Ароэра, к югу от города, в долине Гад, по пути к Язеру.

5 And they crossed the Jordan and came to Sharob, which is on the right side of the city that lies in the midst of the valley of Gad and toward Eleazer;

6 Затем пришли они в Гилад, вошли в землю Тахтим-Ходши, двинулись дальше в Дан-Яан и в окрестности Сидона.

6 Then they came to Tyre and Zidon, to the land of the Canaanites and the land of the Hittites and the land of the Jebusites,

7 Достигнув укреплений Тира, вошли они во все города хивитов и ханаанеев и дошли даже до южной пустыни иудейской, до Беэр-Шевы.

7 And when they had gone through the whole land, they came to the land of Judah in thirty-eight days. Then they came to Dan, and circled Zidon.

8 Так обошли они всю страну и по прошествии девяти месяцев и двадцати дней вернулись в Иерусалим.

8 And when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

9 Йоав представил царю перепись народа, и оказалось, что в Израиле восемьсот тысяч воинов, способных носить меч, а в Иудее — пятьсот тысяч.

9 And Joab brought the sum of the number of the people to the king; and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

10 После этого нехорошо стало на сердце у Давида, что пересчитал он народ. И сказал Давид ГОСПОДУ: «Согрешил я тяжко тем, что сделал это! Но теперь, ГОСПОДИ, прости вину слуге Твоему. Я поступил весьма безрассудно!»

10 But David's heart smote him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the LORD, I have sinned greatly in what I have done; and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, for I have done very foolishly.

11 Когда Давид встал поутру, было слово ГОСПОДА к пророку Гаду, провидцу Давидову:

11 When David arose in the morning, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, saying,

12 «Ступай, возвести Давиду, что так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: „Я позволю тебе избрать одну из трех бед, выбери, что сделать с тобой“».

12 Go and say to David, Thus says the LORD: I will bring upon you one of three calamities; choose one of them, that I may do it to you.

13 Гад пришел к Давиду и сказал ему: «Выбирай, быть ли голоду семь лет в твоей стране, или три месяца скрываться тебе от врагов, что будут гнаться за тобой, или три дня быть поветрию моровому в стране твоей. Рассуди и реши, что мне передать Пославшему меня».

13 So the prophet Gad came to David and said to him, These are the calamities which may come upon you: there shall seven years of famine come in your land, or you shall flee three months before your enemies while they pursue you, or there shall be three days of pestilence in your land. Now therefore say what answer I shall return to him who sent me to you.

14 Давид ответил Гаду: «Велико горе мое, но лучше попасть мне в руки ГОСПОДА, ведь милосердие его безмерно, только бы не попасть в руки людей».

14 Then David answered and said to the prophet Gad, I am greatly distressed; it is better for me to be punished by the hand of the LORD our God; for his mercies are great: let us not be punished by the hand of men.

15 ГОСПОДЬ обрушил моровое поветрие на Израиль с утра и до назначенного времени, и погибло из народа от Дана до Беэр-Шевы семьдесят тысяч человек.

15 So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning until the evening; and there died of the people from Dan to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men.

16 Ангел смерти простер руку и над Иерусалимом, чтобы опустошить его, но ГОСПОДЬ пожалел об этом бедствии и повелел ангелу, губившему народ: «Довольно, опусти руку». Ангел был тогда над самим гумном Аравны-евусея.

16 And when the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD restrained the angel of death who was destroying the people, and said to him, You have destroyed enough, stay now your hand. And the angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Aran the Jebusite.

17 Давид, увидев ангела, поражавшего народ, сказал ГОСПОДУ: «Это я согрешил, моя вина, а эти люди — овцы, что сделали они? Против меня подними Свою руку и против рода отца моего!»

17 Then David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who smote the people, and said to the angel, I have sinned and I have given provocation; but these innocent sheep, what have they done? Let thy hand be against me, and against my father's house.

18 В тот день пришел Гад к Давиду и сказал ему: «Иди и воздвигни ГОСПОДУ жертвенник на гумне Аравны-евусея».

18 And Gad the prophet came that day to David and said to him, Go up and build an altar to the LORD in the threshing floor of Aran the Jebusite.

19 Давид отправился туда по слову Гада, как и велел ГОСПОДЬ.

19 And David went up, according to the word of Gad, as the LORD had commanded him.

20 Когда Аравна увидел, что к нему приближается царь со своими слугами, он вышел навстречу царю и поклонился до земли.

20 And when Aran the Jebusite turned back and saw the king and his servants coming toward him, Aran fell down and did obeisance to the king with his face to the ground.

21 «Зачем пришел владыка мой царь к своему слуге?» — спросил Аравна. «Хочу купить у тебя гумно, — ответил Давид, — чтобы воздвигнуть там жертвенник ГОСПОДУ и отвести моровое поветрие от народа».

23 Всё это Аравна отдавал царю даром, и еще сказал Аравна царю: «Да будет ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, милостив к тебе».

23 All these things did Aran give to King David. And Aran said to the king, May the LORD your God bless you.

24 Но царь ответил Аравне: «Нет, я заплачу тебе за всё. Не стану приносить ГОСПОДУ, Богу моему, то всесожжение, которое ничего мне не стоило». И Давид купил гумно вместе со скотом за пятьдесят шекелей серебра.

24 And the king said to Aran, No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; and I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God of that which cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor by the garden and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

25 Давид воздвиг там жертвенник ГОСПОДУ, принес всесожжения и благодарственные жертвы — ГОСПОДЬ внял мольбе о стране, и моровое поветрие не губило более народ израильский.

25 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.
