Глава 16

1 В тридцать шестой год правления Асы царь израильский Вааса начал войну с Иудеей. Он отстроил Раму, чтобы никто не мог ни войти к царю Иудеи Асе, ни выйти от него.

2 Аса взял всё серебро и золото из сокровищниц Храма ГОСПОДНЯ и из царского дворца и послал эти дары Бен-Хададу, царю арамейскому, что жил в Дамаске, с такими словами:

3 «Да будет союз между мной и тобой, подобный тому, что был между моим отцом и твоим отцом. Я посылаю тебе серебро и золото. Расторгни свой договор с царем израильским Ваасой, чтобы он отступил от моей страны».

4 Послушал Бен-Хадад царя Асу и послал своих военачальников и войско против городов израильских. Они опустошили Ийон, Дан, Авель-Маим и все укрепленные города-хранилища в наделе Неффалима.

5 Как только Вааса услышал об этом, он перестал укреплять Раму и бросил начатое дело.

6 А царь Аса собрал всех жителей Иудеи, и они унесли все камни и древесину, которыми Вааса укреплял Раму. Из этих материалов царь Аса построил защитные сооружения Гивы и Мицпы.

7 Тогда к царю иудейскому Асе пришел провидец Ханани и сказал: «Ты уповал на царя арамейского, а не на ГОСПОДА, Бога твоего, потому и ушло, выскользнуло из твоих рук войско царя арамейского.

8 Помнишь ли ты, какое могучее войско было у кушитов и ливийцев — с бесчисленными колесницами и всадниками? Но ты уповал тогда на ГОСПОДА, потому Он и отдал их тебе в руки!

9 Ибо очи ГОСПОДА видят всю землю, чтобы дать силу тем, кто предан Ему всем сердцем. Безрассудно ты поступил в этом деле, потому и будут у тебя отныне войны».

10 Разгневался Аса на провидца и велел заковать его в колодки и бросить в темницу — так он был разъярен от этих речей. В то время Аса притеснял и других людей из народа.

11 Прочие деяния Асы, от первого до последнего, записаны в Книге царей Иудеи и Израиля.

12 На тридцать девятом году своего царствования Аса тяжело заболел ногами, и болезнь его усиливалась. Но и в болезни он уповал не на ГОСПОДА, а на врачей.

13 Отошел Аса к отцам своим и умер на сорок первом году своего царствования.

14 Его похоронили в гробнице, которую он сделал для себя в Городе Давидовом. Его положили на ложе, которое умастили разными благовониями и искусно приготовленными маслами, и зажгли огромный костер.

Chapter 16

1 IN the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah and built Ramtha, that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

2 Then Asa brought silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent them to Bar-hadad king of Aram, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,

3 There is a league between me and you, as there was between my father and your father; behold, I have sent you silver and gold; go, break your league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me.

4 And Bar-hadad hearkened to King Asa, and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they came and encamped against the cities of Israel; and they took Ijon, Abel, and Beth-maacah, and all the store cities of Naphtali.

5 Then when Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramtha, and let his work cease.

6 Then Asa the king gathered together all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramtha and its timber with which Baasha was building; and King Asa built with them Ramtha of Benjamin and the town of Mizpah.

7 And at that time Hanan the prophet came to Asa king of Judah and said to him, Because you have relied on the king of Aram and not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of Aram will flee.

8 And they will go and become strong, both they and the Ethiopians and the kings that are with them, and will become great armies with very many chariots and horsemen, but when you seek the LORD your God, he will deliver them into your hands.

9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth; therefore, be strong, and let your heart be perfect towards his worship, and understand all his wonders; for the LORD your God will fight for you.

10 Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in prison because he reported things which he did not see and made the heart of the people tremble; therefore Asa kept himself aloof from the people at that time.

11 And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

12 And Asa was diseased in his feet in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, and was laid in his house.

13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.

14 And they buried him in his own sepulchre in the city of David, and they laid him on a bier which was filled with many kinds of spices, and they made a very great burnt offering for him.

7 Тогда к царю иудейскому Асе пришел провидец Ханани и сказал: «Ты уповал на царя арамейского, а не на ГОСПОДА, Бога твоего, потому и ушло, выскользнуло из твоих рук войско царя арамейского.

7 And at that time Hanan the prophet came to Asa king of Judah and said to him, Because you have relied on the king of Aram and not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of Aram will flee.
