Первое послание апостола Иоанна

Глава 3

1 Смотрите, как сильно любит нас Отец! Мы вправе называться детьми Его, да мы уже и теперь дети Божьи! Мир не признаёт нас лишь потому, что Бога не узнал.

2 Дорогие мои, теперь мы дети Божьи. Нам не открыто пока, кем станем мы, но знаем: когда придет Он, мы уподобимся Ему, ибо увидим Его таким, какой Он есть.

3 Всякий, кто живет этой надеждой, надеждой на Него, очищается, ибо Христос чист.

4 Всякий, совершающий грех, беззаконие совершает, грех, собственно, и есть беззаконие.

5 Но Христос, вы знаете, для того и явился, чтобы грехи упразднить; в Нем же Самом нет греха.

6 Потому всякий, кто с Ним, не грешит; а всякий, кто не видел и не познал Его, тот грешит.

7 Дети мои, пусть никогда не введет вас никто в заблуждение. Кто праведно живет, тот праведен, как праведен Христос.

8 А кто грех совершает, от дьявола тот, ибо это дьявол, как начал когда-то, так и не перестает грешить. Но явился Сын Божий, чтобы разрушить козни его.

9 Всякий, кто от Бога рожден, не для греха живет, ибо в нем — семя Божие. Он и не может грешить, потому что рожден от Бога.

10 Кто не живет праведно и не любит брата своего, тот не от Бога. Тем и отличаются дети дьяволовы от детей Божиих.

11 Ведь с самого начала весть, которую вы услышали, звала нас всех любить друг друга

12 и не уподобляться Каину, который был от сатаны, — убил он брата своего. За что он убил его? Да за то, что его собственные дела были злы, а дела брата его — праведны.

13 [Так что] не удивляйтесь, братья, если мир ненавидит вас.

14 Мы знаем с вами, что уже перешли из смерти в жизнь, потому что любим братьев наших, а кто не любит, тот мертв.

15 Всякий, кто брата своего ненавидит, разве не убийца он? А вы знаете, что ни у какого убийцы нет жизни вечной, в нем пребывающей.

16 Узнали мы, что есть истинная любовь, когда жизнь Свою Христос отдал за нас. Так и мы должны жизнь свою отдавать за братьев наших.

17 А если живет человек в достатке, но при виде брата своего, который в нужде, сочувствия к нему не проявляет, может ли быть в таком человеке любовь Божия?

18 Дети мои, давайте любить не на словах и не языком, а на деле, по-настоящему.

19 Тогда узнаем, что от истины мы, и успокоятся пред Ним сердца наши,

20 в чем бы они ни обвиняли нас — Бог больше нашего сердца, Он знает всё.

21 Братья дорогие, если не осуждают нас сердца [наши], смело можем обращаться к Богу.

22 И чего бы мы у Него ни попросили, от Него получим, ибо соблюдаем заповеди Его и Ему угодное делаем.

23 А заповедовал Он нам веровать во имя Сына Его, Иисуса Христа, и любить друг друга — вот Его заповедь.

24 И кто соблюдает заповеди Божьи, тот пребывает в Боге, и Бог — в нем. А то, что воистину пребывает Он в нас, о том нам Дух говорит, Которого нам Он дал.

Chapter 3

1 SEE how abundant the love of the Fa ther is toward us, for he has called us sons and made us: therefore the world does not know us because it did not know him.

2 My beloved, now we are the sons of God, and as yet it has not been revealed what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be in his likeness; for we shall see him as he is.

3 Let every man who has this hope in him purify himself, even as he is pure.

4 Whoever commits sin commits evil: for all sin is evil.

5 And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whoever abides in him does not sin: and whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.

7 My children, let no man deceive you; he who does righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous.

8 He who commits sin is of the devil; because the devil has been a sinner from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whoever is born of God does not commit sin because God's seed is in him; and he cannot sin because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God can be distinguished from the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness and does not love his brother, does not belong to God.

11 For this is the commandment that you have heard from the beginning, that you must love one another,

12 Not as Cain, who belonged to the wicked one and slew his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own works were evil, and those of his brother were righteous.

13 So be not surprised, my brethren, if the world hates you.

14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.

15 Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

16 By this we know his love for us, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for our brethren.

17 Whoever has worldly goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts his mercy from him, how can the love of God dwell in him?

18 My children, let us not love one another in word and in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

19 And by this we shall know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before he comes.

20 For if our hearts condemns us, how much more, then, will God who is greater than our hearts and knows all things.

21 My beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, then we have confidence before God.

22 And whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing to him.

23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he has commanded us.

24 Whosoever keeps his commandments will be guarded by him, and he will dwell in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

2 Дорогие мои, теперь мы дети Божьи. Нам не открыто пока, кем станем мы, но знаем: когда придет Он, мы уподобимся Ему, ибо увидим Его таким, какой Он есть.

2 My beloved, now we are the sons of God, and as yet it has not been revealed what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be in his likeness; for we shall see him as he is.

3 Всякий, кто живет этой надеждой, надеждой на Него, очищается, ибо Христос чист.

3 Let every man who has this hope in him purify himself, even as he is pure.

4 Всякий, совершающий грех, беззаконие совершает, грех, собственно, и есть беззаконие.

4 Whoever commits sin commits evil: for all sin is evil.

5 Но Христос, вы знаете, для того и явился, чтобы грехи упразднить; в Нем же Самом нет греха.

5 And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Потому всякий, кто с Ним, не грешит; а всякий, кто не видел и не познал Его, тот грешит.

6 Whoever abides in him does not sin: and whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.

7 Дети мои, пусть никогда не введет вас никто в заблуждение. Кто праведно живет, тот праведен, как праведен Христос.

7 My children, let no man deceive you; he who does righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous.

8 А кто грех совершает, от дьявола тот, ибо это дьявол, как начал когда-то, так и не перестает грешить. Но явился Сын Божий, чтобы разрушить козни его.

8 He who commits sin is of the devil; because the devil has been a sinner from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Всякий, кто от Бога рожден, не для греха живет, ибо в нем — семя Божие. Он и не может грешить, потому что рожден от Бога.

9 Whoever is born of God does not commit sin because God's seed is in him; and he cannot sin because he is born of God.

10 Кто не живет праведно и не любит брата своего, тот не от Бога. Тем и отличаются дети дьяволовы от детей Божиих.

10 In this the children of God can be distinguished from the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness and does not love his brother, does not belong to God.

11 Ведь с самого начала весть, которую вы услышали, звала нас всех любить друг друга

11 For this is the commandment that you have heard from the beginning, that you must love one another,

12 и не уподобляться Каину, который был от сатаны, — убил он брата своего. За что он убил его? Да за то, что его собственные дела были злы, а дела брата его — праведны.

12 Not as Cain, who belonged to the wicked one and slew his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own works were evil, and those of his brother were righteous.

13 [Так что] не удивляйтесь, братья, если мир ненавидит вас.

13 So be not surprised, my brethren, if the world hates you.

14 Мы знаем с вами, что уже перешли из смерти в жизнь, потому что любим братьев наших, а кто не любит, тот мертв.

14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.

15 Всякий, кто брата своего ненавидит, разве не убийца он? А вы знаете, что ни у какого убийцы нет жизни вечной, в нем пребывающей.

15 Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

16 Узнали мы, что есть истинная любовь, когда жизнь Свою Христос отдал за нас. Так и мы должны жизнь свою отдавать за братьев наших.

16 By this we know his love for us, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for our brethren.

17 А если живет человек в достатке, но при виде брата своего, который в нужде, сочувствия к нему не проявляет, может ли быть в таком человеке любовь Божия?

17 Whoever has worldly goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts his mercy from him, how can the love of God dwell in him?

18 Дети мои, давайте любить не на словах и не языком, а на деле, по-настоящему.

18 My children, let us not love one another in word and in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

19 Тогда узнаем, что от истины мы, и успокоятся пред Ним сердца наши,

19 And by this we shall know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before he comes.

20 в чем бы они ни обвиняли нас — Бог больше нашего сердца, Он знает всё.

20 For if our hearts condemns us, how much more, then, will God who is greater than our hearts and knows all things.

21 Братья дорогие, если не осуждают нас сердца [наши], смело можем обращаться к Богу.

21 My beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, then we have confidence before God.

22 И чего бы мы у Него ни попросили, от Него получим, ибо соблюдаем заповеди Его и Ему угодное делаем.

22 And whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing to him.

23 А заповедовал Он нам веровать во имя Сына Его, Иисуса Христа, и любить друг друга — вот Его заповедь.

23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he has commanded us.

24 И кто соблюдает заповеди Божьи, тот пребывает в Боге, и Бог — в нем. А то, что воистину пребывает Он в нас, о том нам Дух говорит, Которого нам Он дал.

24 Whosoever keeps his commandments will be guarded by him, and he will dwell in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.
