Глава 7

1 Было мне от Владыки ГОСПОДА такое видение: готовил Он полчище саранчи, и это было то время, когда только что завершился покос для конюшен царя, а второй урожай злаков — поздние всходы — едва проклюнулись.

2 И когда в видении саранча та пожрала всё, что на поле росло, я воззвал: «Владыка ГОСПОДИ, пощади! Как тут устоять Иакову? Он так мал!»

3 Уступил ГОСПОДЬ. «Не будет этого», — сказал Он.

4 И такое видение было мне от Владыки ГОСПОДА: призвал Он дождь огненный, и тот, поглотив великую бездну, стал распространяться по полю.

5 Тогда сказал я: «Владыка ГОСПОДИ, молю, не делай этого! Как тут устоять Иакову? Он так мал!»

6 Уступил ГОСПОДЬ. «Не будет и этого», — сказал Владыка ГОСПОДЬ.

7 И еще вот что Он мне показал: стоял Он, Владыка, у стены, свинцовый отвес был в Его руке.

8 И спросил меня ГОСПОДЬ: «Что видишь, Амос?» Я ответил: «Свинцовый отвес». Тогда Владыка сказал: «Как к стене покосившейся, отвес Я опускаю среди народа Моего и более прощать и щадить его не буду.

9 Опустошены будут места поклонения Исаака, разорены святилища Израиля, с мечом пойду Я на дом Иеровоама!»

10 Амацья, священник при капище в Бет-Эле, послал израильскому царю Иеровоаму такую весть: «Амос плетет заговор против тебя в самом сердце Израиля! Сколько можно терпеть, что по всей стране разносятся вздорные речи его?!

11 Ведь вот что он говорит: „Иеровоам от меча умрет, а израильтяне неизбежно в плен попадут, подальше от родной земли“».

12 Самому же Амосу Амацья тогда сказал: «Иди-ка ты отсюда, провидец! Беги в свою Иудею, зарабатывай там на жизнь и пророчествуй.

13 Хватит тебе! Бет-Элю не нужны твои пророчества! Это царское святилище, храм царства нашего!»

14 «Я не собирался быть пророком, — Амос ответил Амацье, — да и не сын я пророка, скотоводством я занимался и сикоморы выращивал.

15 Но ГОСПОДЬ взял меня от стад и сказал: „Ступай и народу Моему Израилю пророчествуй“.

16 Выслушай и ты слово ГОСПОДНЕ. Ты говоришь мне: „Перестань предсказывать худое об Израиле и возводить поношение на потомков Исаака“.

17 Посему так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: „Жена твоя блудницей городской станет, дети — и сыновья, и дочери — от меча падут, земля твоя другим достанется, сам ты в чужой, языческой стране умрешь, а израильтяне неизбежно в плен попадут, подальше от родной земли“».

Chapter 7

1 THUS has the LORD God showed me: behold, a plague of locusts coming up in the beginning of springing up of the latter growth; and, 1o, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

2 And it came to pass when they had finished eating the grass of the land, then I said, O LORD God, forgive. Who shall raise up Jacob? For he is small in numbers.

3 Then the LORD averted this calamity: it shall not be.

4 Thus has the LORD God showed me: and, behold, the LORD God called the people to judge them by fire, and it devoured the great deep and did eat up a part.

5 Then I said, O LORD God, forgive. Who shall raise up Jacob? For he is small in numbers.

6 The LORD averted this calamity; this also shall not be.

7 Thus he showed me: and, behold, the LORD was standing upon a wall made of adamant, and a plumbline was in his hand.

8 And the LORD said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more:

9 And the absurd shrines of Israel shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

10 Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel, and the land cannot bear all his words.

11 For thus Amos is saying: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be carried away captive out of their own land.

12 Also Amaziah said to Amos, O you seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;

13 But prophesy, not again any more at Beth-el; for it is the king's sanctuary and it is the house of the kingdom.

14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I am not a prophet, neither a prophet's son; but I was a shepherd and a gatherer of wild figs;

15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, Go, prophesy against my people Israel.

16 Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, Do not prophesy against the house of Israel and do not teach against the house of Isaac.

17 Therefore thus says the LORD: Your wife shall play the harlot in your own city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a polluted land; and Israel shall surely be carried away captive from his land.

7 Thus he showed me: and, behold, the LORD was standing upon a wall made of adamant, and a plumbline was in his hand.

8 И спросил меня ГОСПОДЬ: «Что видишь, Амос?» Я ответил: «Свинцовый отвес». Тогда Владыка сказал: «Как к стене покосившейся, отвес Я опускаю среди народа Моего и более прощать и щадить его не буду.

8 And the LORD said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more:

9 Опустошены будут места поклонения Исаака, разорены святилища Израиля, с мечом пойду Я на дом Иеровоама!»

9 And the absurd shrines of Israel shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

10 Амацья, священник при капище в Бет-Эле, послал израильскому царю Иеровоаму такую весть: «Амос плетет заговор против тебя в самом сердце Израиля! Сколько можно терпеть, что по всей стране разносятся вздорные речи его?!

10 Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel, and the land cannot bear all his words.

11 Ведь вот что он говорит: „Иеровоам от меча умрет, а израильтяне неизбежно в плен попадут, подальше от родной земли“».

11 For thus Amos is saying: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be carried away captive out of their own land.

12 Самому же Амосу Амацья тогда сказал: «Иди-ка ты отсюда, провидец! Беги в свою Иудею, зарабатывай там на жизнь и пророчествуй.

12 Also Amaziah said to Amos, O you seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;

13 Хватит тебе! Бет-Элю не нужны твои пророчества! Это царское святилище, храм царства нашего!»

13 But prophesy, not again any more at Beth-el; for it is the king's sanctuary and it is the house of the kingdom.

14 «Я не собирался быть пророком, — Амос ответил Амацье, — да и не сын я пророка, скотоводством я занимался и сикоморы выращивал.

14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I am not a prophet, neither a prophet's son; but I was a shepherd and a gatherer of wild figs;

15 Но ГОСПОДЬ взял меня от стад и сказал: „Ступай и народу Моему Израилю пророчествуй“.

15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, Go, prophesy against my people Israel.

16 Выслушай и ты слово ГОСПОДНЕ. Ты говоришь мне: „Перестань предсказывать худое об Израиле и возводить поношение на потомков Исаака“.

16 Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, Do not prophesy against the house of Israel and do not teach against the house of Isaac.

17 Посему так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: „Жена твоя блудницей городской станет, дети — и сыновья, и дочери — от меча падут, земля твоя другим достанется, сам ты в чужой, языческой стране умрешь, а израильтяне неизбежно в плен попадут, подальше от родной земли“».
