1 NOW we beseech you, my brethren, concerning the coming of our LORD Jesus Christ, and concerning our gathering together with him, |
|
2 That you let not your minds be hastily excited or troubled, neither by word, nor by prophecy of the spirit, nor by an epistle, supposedly from us, stating that the day of our LORD is at hand. |
|
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, unless it is preceded by a rebellion, and the man of sin be revealed as the son of perdition, |
|
4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is reverenced; so that even in the temple of God, he sits as a god, and shows himself, as though he were a god. |
|
5 Do you not remember, that when I was with you I told you these things? |
|
6 And now you know what has prevented him from being revealed in his time. |
|
7 For the mystery of iniquity is already at work: until he who now is the obstacle be taken out of the way. |
|
8 Then shall the Wicked be exposed, that one whom our LORD Jesus shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the revelation of his coming: |
|
9 Even him, whose coming is due to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, |
|
10 And with all deceitfulness of unrighteousness in those who perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved thereby. |
|
11 For this cause God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie. |
|
12 That they all, who did not believe in the truth but preferred unrighteousness, might be damned. |
|
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, my brethren beloved of our LORD, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through holiness of the Spirit and through a true faith: |
|
14 And it is to these things that God called you by our preaching, to be the glory of our LORD Jesus Christ. |
|
15 Henceforth, my brethren, stand fast, and hold to the commandments which you have been taught, either by word, or by our epistle. |
|
16 Now our LORD Jesus Christ himself, and God even our Father, who has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through his grace, |
|
17 Comfort your hearts, and strengthen you in every good word and work. |

2 щоб ви не хвилювалися зараз умом та не жахались ані через духа, ані через слово, ані через листа, що він ніби від нас, — ніби вже настав день Господній. |
|
3 Хай ніхто жодним способом вас не зведе́! Бо той день не настане, аж перше при́йде відсту́плення, і ви́явиться беззако́нник, призна́чений на погибіль, |
|
4 що противиться та несеться над усе, зване Богом чи свя́тощами, так що в Божому храмі він сяде, як Бог, і за Бога себе видаватиме. |
|
5 Чи ви не пам'ятаєте, як, ще в вас живши, я це вам говорив? |
|
6 І тепер ви знаєте, що́ саме не допускає з'явитись йому своєчасно. |
|
7 Бо вже діється таємни́ця беззако́ння; тільки Той, Хто трима́є тепер, буде тримати, аж поки не бу́де усу́нений Він із сере́дини. |
|
8 І тоді то з'явиться той беззаконник, що його Госпо́дь Ісус заб'є Духом уст Своїх і знищить з'я́вленням прихо́ду Свого. |
|
9 Його прихід — за чином сатани — буде з усякою силою й зна́ками та з неправдивими чу́дами, |
|
10 і з усякою обманою неправди між тими, хто гине, бо любови правди вони не прийняли́, щоб їм спастися. |
|
11 І за це Бог пошле їм дію обмани, щоб у неправду повірили, |
|
12 щоб стали засу́джені всі, хто не вірив у правду, але полюбив неправедність. |
|
13 |
|
14 до чого покликав Він вас через нашу Єва́нгелію, щоб отримати славу Господа нашого Ісуса Христа. |
|
15 Отже, бра́ття, стійте й тримайтеся переда́нь, яких ви навчились чи то словом, чи нашим посла́нням. |
|
16 Сам же Госпо́дь наш Ісус Христос і Бог Отець наш, що нас полюбив і дав у благода́ті вічну потіху та добру надію, — |
|
17 нехай ваші серця Він поті́шить, і нехай Він зміцнить вас у всякому доброму ділі та в слові! |

4 що противиться та несеться над усе, зване Богом чи свя́тощами, так що в Божому храмі він сяде, як Бог, і за Бога себе видаватиме. |

11 І за це Бог пошле їм дію обмани, щоб у неправду повірили, |

12 That they all, who did not believe in the truth but preferred unrighteousness, might be damned. |
12 щоб стали засу́джені всі, хто не вірив у правду, але полюбив неправедність. |

13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, my brethren beloved of our LORD, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through holiness of the Spirit and through a true faith: |

15 Отже, бра́ття, стійте й тримайтеся переда́нь, яких ви навчились чи то словом, чи нашим посла́нням. |

16 Now our LORD Jesus Christ himself, and God even our Father, who has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through his grace, |
16 Сам же Госпо́дь наш Ісус Христос і Бог Отець наш, що нас полюбив і дав у благода́ті вічну потіху та добру надію, — |
|
17 Comfort your hearts, and strengthen you in every good word and work. |
17 нехай ваші серця Він поті́шить, і нехай Він зміцнить вас у всякому доброму ділі та в слові! |
