Chapter 14

1 NOW Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build a house for him.

2 And David perceived that the LORD had chosen him to be king over Israel, for his kingdom was exalted because of his people Israel.

3 And David took more wives in Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron, and there were born to him more sons and daughters.

4 Now these are the names of the children who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shocob, Nathan, and Solomon.

5 Ibhar, Elisha, Eliphalet.

6 Nogah, Nepheg, and Naphia,

7 And Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphalet.

8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

9 And the Philistines came and encamped in the valley of giants.

10 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into my hands? And the LORD said to him, Go up; for I will deliver them into your hands.

11 So they came up to the valley of Toretha, and David smote them there. Then David said. The LORD has broken in upon my enemies before me like the breaking forth of waters; therefore they called the name of that place the valley of Toretha.

12 And when they had left their idols there, David gave a commandment to his mighty men, saying. Burn them with fire and scatter their ashes to the wind.

13 And the Philistines came up again and encamped in the valley of giants.

14 Therefore David inquired again of God; and God said to him, You shall not go up after them; but turn away from them, and go attack them from the front.

15 And it shall be, when you hear the sound of howling in the top of the mountain, then you shall go out to battle; for the LORD has gone forth before you to smite the army of the Philistines.

16 And David therefore did as the LORD commanded him; and they smote the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gadar.

17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all the nations.

10 И вопросил7592 Давид1732 Бога,430 говоря:559 идти5927 ли мне против Филистимлян,6430 и предашь5414 ли их в руки3027 мои? И сказал559 ему Господь:3068 иди,5927 и Я предам5414 их в руки3027 твои.

11 И пошли5927 они в Ваал-Перацим,1188 и поразил5221 их там Давид;1732 и сказал559 Давид:1732 сломил6555 Бог430 врагов341 моих рукою3027 моею, как прорыв6556 воды.4325 Посему и дали7121 имя8034 месту4725 тому: Ваал-Перацим.1188

12 И оставили5800 там Филистимляне богов430 своих, и повелел559 Давид,1732 и сожжены8313 они огнем.784

13 И пришли опять3254 Филистимляне6430 и расположились6584 по долине.6010

14 И еще вопросил7592 Давид1732 Бога,430 и сказал559 ему Бог:430 не ходи5927 прямо на310 них, уклонись5437 от них и иди935 к ним со стороны4136 тутовых1057 дерев;1057

15 и когда услышишь8085 шум6963 как бы шагов6807 на вершинах7218 тутовых1057 дерев,1057 тогда вступи3318 в битву,4421 ибо вышел3318 Бог430 пред3942 тобою, чтобы поразить5221 стан4264 Филистимлян.6430

16 И сделал6213 Давид,1732 как повелел6680 ему Бог;430 и поразили5221 стан4264 Филистимский,6430 от Гаваона1391 до Газера.1507

17 И пронеслось3318 имя8034 Давидово1732 по всем землям,776 и Господь3068 сделал5414 его страшным6343 для всех народов.1471
