Chapter 24

1 Now these are the divisions4256 of the sons1121 of Aaron.175 The sons1121 of Aaron;175 Nadab,5070 and Abihu,30 Eleazar,499 and Ithamar.385

2 But Nadab5070 and Abihu30 died4191 before6440 their father,1 and had1961 no3808 children:1121 therefore Eleazar499 and Ithamar385 executed the priest's office.3547

3 And David1732 distributed2505 them, both Zadok6659 of4480 the sons1121 of Eleazar,499 and Ahimelech288 of4480 the sons1121 of Ithamar,385 according to their offices6486 in their service.5656

4 And there were more7227 chief7218 men1397 found4672 of the sons1121 of Eleazar499 than4480 of the sons1121 of Ithamar;385 and thus were they divided.2505 Among the sons1121 of Eleazar499 there were sixteen8337 6240 chief men7218 of the house1004 of their fathers,1 and eight8083 among the sons1121 of Ithamar385 according to the house1004 of their fathers.1

2 Та повмирали Надав та Авігу за життя їхнього батька, і не мали вони сині́в, тому священноді́яли Елеазар та Ітамар.

3 І поділив їх Давид і Садо́к, з Елеазарових синів, та Ахіме́лех, з Ітамарових синів, за їхнім уря́дом в їхній службі.

4 І були зна́йдені Елеаза́рові сини численні́шими, щодо голів чоловіків, від синів Ітамарових. І вони поділили їх: для Елеаза́рових синів голів дому батьків було шістнадцять, а для Ітамарових синів для дому батьків їх — вісім.

5 І поділили їх жеребка́ми, тих з тими, бо головними в святині та головними перед Богом були з синів Елеазарових та серед синів Ітамарових.
