16 And there was1961 war4421 between996 Asa609 and Baasha1201 king4428 of Israel3478 all3605 their days.3117

17 And Baasha1201 king4428 of Israel3478 went up5927 against5921 Judah,3063 and built1129 853 Ramah,7414 that he might not1115 suffer5414 any to go out3318 or come in935 to Asa609 king4428 of Judah.3063

18 Then Asa609 took3947 853 all3605 the silver3701 and the gold2091 that were left3498 in the treasures214 of the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and the treasures214 of the king's4428 house,1004 and delivered5414 them into the hand3027 of his servants:5650 and king4428 Asa609 sent7971 them to413 Ben-hadad,1130 the son1121 of Tabrimon,2886 the son1121 of Hezion,2383 king4428 of Syria,758 that dwelt3427 at Damascus,1834 saying,559

19 There is a league1285 between996 me and thee, and between996 my father1 and thy father:1 behold,2009 I have sent7971 unto thee a present7810 of silver3701 and gold;2091 come1980 and break6565 853 thy league1285 with854 Baasha1201 king4428 of Israel,3478 that he may depart5927 from4480 5921 me.

20 So Ben-hadad1130 hearkened8085 unto413 king4428 Asa,609 and sent7971 853 the captains8269 of the hosts2428 which834 he had against5921 the cities5892 of Israel,3478 and smote5221 853 Ijon,5859 and Dan,1835 and Abel-beth-maachah,62 and all3605 Cinneroth,3672 with5921 all3605 the land776 of Naphtali.5321

21 And it came to pass,1961 when Baasha1201 heard8085 thereof, that he left off2308 building4480 1129 of853 Ramah,7414 and dwelt3427 in Tirzah.8656

22 Then king4428 Asa609 made a proclamation8085 throughout853 all3605 Judah;3063 none369 was exempted:5355 and they took away5375 853 the stones68 of Ramah,7414 and the timber6086 thereof, wherewith834 Baasha1201 had built;1129 and king4428 Asa609 built1129 with them853 Geba1387 of Benjamin,1144 and Mizpah.4709

3 Он жил в тех же грехах, что и его отец, и сердце его не было так же предано ГОСПОДУ, Богу его, как сердце праотца его Давида.

4 Но ради Давида ГОСПОДЬ, Бог его, оставил светильник в Иерусалиме, посадив на престол его потомка и утвердив Иерусалим, —

5 ведь Давид делал то, что было праведно в глазах ГОСПОДА, и всю свою жизнь не уклонялся от повелений Его, кроме случая с Урией-хеттом.

6 Как Ровоам и Иеровоам воевали друг с другом всю свою жизнь,

7 так и Авия и Иеровоам также воевали друг с другом. Что же до прочих деяний Авии и событий его жизни, то не описаны ли они в летописи царей иудейских?

8 Авия отошел к праотцам, и похоронили его в Городе Давидовом. После него воцарился его сын Аса.

9 В двадцатый год правления Иеровоама, царя Израиля, в Иудее воцарился Аса.

10 Сорок один год правил он в Иерусалиме. Его бабку звали Мааха, она была дочерью Авессалома.

11 Аса делал то, что было праведно в глазах ГОСПОДА, как и праотец его Давид.

12 Он выдворил из страны продающих тело свое в капищах языческих и уничтожил всех идолов, сделанных его предками.

13 И даже бабку свою Мааху он лишил звания царицы за то, что та поставила изваяние Ашеры. Это изваяние Аса снес и сжег у потока Кедрон.

14 И хотя капища на холмах не были разрушены, но Аса всем сердцем был с ГОСПОДОМ всю свою жизнь.

15 Он перенес в Храм ГОСПОДЕНЬ всё, что они с отцом посвятили ГОСПОДУ: серебро, золото и храмовую утварь.

16 Аса и Вааса, царь израильский, воевали друг с другом всю свою жизнь.

17 Вааса, царь израильский, напал на Иудею и стал возводить крепость Раму, чтобы никто не смог послать помощь Асе, царю иудейскому.

18 Тогда Аса взял всё серебро и золото, что оставалось в сокровищнице Храма ГОСПОДНЕГО и в сокровищнице дворца, и передал своим слугам. Послал их царь Аса к Бен-Хададу, сыну Тавриммона, внуку Хезьона, царю арамейскому, что правил Дамаском, с такими словами:

19 «Союз да будет между нами, как был между отцами нашими! Посылаю тебе в дар серебро и золото. Расторгни союз с Ваасой, царем израильским, и тогда он оставит меня в покое».

20 Бен-Хадад послушал царя Асу и послал своих военачальников на израильские города. Он напал на Ийон, Дан и Авел-Бет-Мааху, на весь Кинрот и на всю область колена Неффалима.

21 Услышав об этом, Вааса перестал строить Раму и вернулся в Тирцу.

22 Тогда царь Аса приказал всем иудеям, чтобы они забрали из Рамы со строительства, начатого Ваасой, камни и бревна. Из них царь Аса построил Гиву Вениаминову и Мицпу.

23 Что до прочих свершений Асы, и подвигов его, и событий его жизни, и городов, которые он построил, то не описано ли всё это в летописи царей иудейских? В старости у него стали болеть ноги.

24 Аса отошел к праотцам и был похоронен с ними в Городе праотца его Давида. После него воцарился его сын Иосафат.

25 Во второй год царствования Асы в Иудее воцарился в Израиле Надав, сын Иеровоама. Два года он правил Израилем.

26 Он творил то, что было злом в глазах ГОСПОДА, в своих грехах следуя по стопам отца, который вводил Израиль в грех.

27 Вааса, сын Ахии, из колена Иссахара, составил заговор против него. Вааса сразил Надава при филистимском городе Гиббетоне, когда тот с израильским войском осаждал город.

28 Убив его, Вааса сменил его на престоле — было это в третий год правления царя Асы в Иудее.

29 Став царем, Вааса перебил весь род Иеровоама, не оставив в живых никого из потомков Иеровоама, — по слову ГОСПОДНЮ, возвещенному Ахией из Силома,

30 за грехи Иеровоама, который грешил сам и вводил в грех израильтян, смущая их и вызывая гнев ГОСПОДА, Бога Израиля.

31 Прочие дела Надава и события его жизни записаны в летописи царей израильских.

32 Аса и Вааса, царь израильский, воевали друг с другом всю свою жизнь.

33 В третий год царствования Асы в Иудее воцарился в Израиле Вааса, сын Ахии. Двадцать четыре года правил он в Тирце.
