1 And the ark727 of the LORD3068 was in the country7704 of the Philistines6430 seven7651 months.2320

2 And the Philistines6430 called7121 for the priests3548 and the diviners,7080 saying,559 What4100 shall we do6213 to the ark727 of the LORD?3068 tell3045 us with which4100 we shall send7971 it to his place.4725

3 And they said,559 If518 you send7971 away the ark727 of the God430 of Israel,3478 send7971 it not empty;7387 but in any wise return7725 him a trespass817 offering: then227 you shall be healed,7495 and it shall be known3045 to you why4100 his hand3027 is not removed5493 from you.

4 Then said559 they, What4100 shall be the trespass817 offering which834 we shall return7725 to him? They answered,559 Five2568 golden2091 tumors,6076 and five2568 golden2091 mice,5909 according to the number4557 of the lords5633 of the Philistines:6430 for one259 plague4046 was on you all,3605 and on your lords.5633

5 Why you shall make6213 images6754 of your tumors,6076 and images6754 of your mice5909 that mar7843 the land;776 and you shall give5414 glory3519 to the God430 of Israel:3478 peradventure194 he will lighten7043 his hand3027 from off5921 you, and from off5921 your gods,430 and from off5921 your land.776

6 Why4100 then do you harden3513 your hearts,3824 as the Egyptians4714 and Pharaoh6547 hardened3513 their hearts?3820 when834 he had worked5953 wonderfully5953 among them, did they not let the people go,7971 and they departed?3212

7 Now6258 therefore make6213 a new2319 cart,5699 and take3947 two8147 milk5763 cows,6510 on5921 which834 there has come5927 no3808 yoke,5923 and tie631 the cows6510 to the cart,5699 and bring7725 their calves1121 home1004 from them:

8 And take3947 the ark727 of the LORD,3068 and lay5414 it on the cart;5699 and put7760 the jewels3627 of gold,2091 which834 you return7725 him for a trespass817 offering, in a coffer712 by the side6654 thereof; and send7971 it away, that it may go.1980

9 And see,7200 if518 it goes5927 up by the way1870 of his own coast1366 to Bethshemesh,1053 then he has done6213 us this2063 great1419 evil:7451 but if518 not, then we shall know3045 that it is not his hand3027 that smote5060 us: it was a chance4745 that happened1961 to us.

10 And the men582 did6213 so;3651 and took3947 two8147 milk5763 cows,6510 and tied631 them to the cart,5699 and shut3607 up their calves1121 at home:1004

11 And they laid7760 the ark727 of the LORD3068 on the cart,5699 and the coffer712 with the mice5909 of gold2091 and the images6754 of their tumors.2914

12 And the cows6510 took the straight3474 way1870 to the way1870 of Bethshemesh,1053 and went1980 along1980 the highway,4546 lowing1600 as they went,1980 and turned5493 not aside to the right3225 hand3225 or to the left;8040 and the lords5633 of the Philistines6430 went1980 after310 them to the border1366 of Bethshemesh.1053

13 And they of Bethshemesh1053 were reaping7114 their wheat2406 harvest7105 in the valley:6010 and they lifted5375 up their eyes,5869 and saw7200 the ark,727 and rejoiced8055 to see7200 it.

14 And the cart5699 came935 into413 the field7704 of Joshua,3091 a Bethshemite,1030 and stood5975 there,8033 where8033 there was a great1419 stone:68 and they split1234 the wood6086 of the cart,5699 and offered5927 the cows6510 a burnt5930 offering to the LORD.3068

15 And the Levites3881 took3381 down3381 the ark727 of the LORD,3068 and the coffer712 that was with it, wherein834 the jewels3627 of gold2091 were, and put7760 them on413 the great1419 stone:68 and the men582 of Bethshemesh1053 offered5927 burnt5930 offerings and sacrificed2076 sacrifices2077 the same1931 day3117 to the LORD.3068

16 And when the five2568 lords5633 of the Philistines6430 had seen7200 it, they returned7725 to Ekron6138 the same1931 day.3117

17 And these428 are the golden2091 tumors2914 which834 the Philistines6430 returned7725 for a trespass817 offering to the LORD;3068 for Ashdod795 one,259 for Gaza5804 one,259 for Askelon831 one,259 for Gath1661 one,259 for Ekron6138 one;259

18 And the golden2091 mice,5909 according to the number4557 of all3605 the cities5892 of the Philistines6430 belonging to the five2568 lords,5633 both of fenced4013 cities,5892 and of country6521 villages,3724 even to the great1419 stone of Abel,59 where on834 5921 they set3240 down the ark727 of the LORD:3068 which stone remains to this2088 day3117 in the field7704 of Joshua,3091 the Bethshemite.1030

19 And he smote the men376 of Bethshemesh,1053 because3588 they had looked7200 into the ark727 of the LORD,3068 even he smote5221 of the people5971 fifty2572 thousand505 and three score7657 and ten men:376 and the people5971 lamented,56 because3588 the LORD3068 had smitten5221 many of the people5971 with a great1419 slaughter.4347

20 And the men582 of Bethshemesh1053 said,559 Who4310 is able3201 to stand5975 before6440 this2088 holy6918 LORD3068 God?430 and to whom4310 shall he go5927 up from us?

21 And they sent7971 messengers4397 to the inhabitants3427 of Kirjathjearim,7157 saying,559 The Philistines6430 have brought7725 again7725 the ark727 of the LORD;3068 come3381 you down,3381 and fetch5927 it up to you.

1 И пробыл ковчег Господень в областях Филистимских семь месяцев.

2 И призвали Филистимляне жрецов и прорицателей, и сказали: что нам делать с ковчегом Господним? Научите нас, с чем нам отпустить его в свое место?

3 Тогда сказали они: если вы намерены отпустить ковчег Бога Израилева, то не отпускайте его без всего, но принесите ему жертву повинности; тогда исцелитесь, и узнаете, за что не отклоняется от вас рука Его.

4 И сказали они: какую жертву повинности должны мы принести Ему? Они сказали: по числу владельцев Филистимских, пять золотых желваков, и пять золотых мышей; поелику казнь одна на всех, и на владельцах ваших.

5 Итак сделайте изображение желваков ваших и изображение мышей ваших, которые опустошают землю, и отдайте в честь Богу Израилеву: тогда может быть отклонит Он руку Свою от вас, и от бога вашего, и от земли вашей.

6 И для чего вам ожесточать сердце ваше, так, как ожесточили сердце свое Египтяне и Фараон? Когда же он стал действовать против них, то не отпустили ли они их, и не пошли ли они?

7 Итак сделайте одну новую колесницу и возьмите двух телиц дойных, на которых не было ярма; и впрягите сих телиц в колесницу, телят же их возвратите от них домой.

8 И возьмите ковчег Господень, и поставьте его на колесницу; а золотые вещи, которые принесете ему в жертву повинности, положите в ящик с боку его, и отпустите его, и пусть пойдет.

9 И смотрите, если он пойдет к пределам своим к Беф-Шемешу, то Он сделал нам великое сие зло; если же нет, то мы будем знать, что не Его рука поразила нас, а сделалось это с нами по случаю.

10 И сделали они так; и взяли двух телиц дойных, и впрягли их в колесницу, а телят их удержали дома.

11 И поставили ковчег Господень на колесницу, и ящик и золотых мышей, и изображения желваков.

12 И пошли телицы прямо по дороге к Беф-Шемешу; одною дорогою шли и мычали, и не уклонялись ни направо, ни налево; владельцы же Филистимские проводили их до пределов Беф-Шемеша.

13 Жители Беф-Шемеша жали тогда пшеницу на поле, и взглянув, увидели ковчег, и увидев, обрадовались.

14 И пришла колесница на поле Иисуса, Беф-Шемешского жителя, и остановилась там. Тут был большой камень; и раскололи колесницу на дрова, а телиц принесли во всесожжение Господу.

15 Левиты сняли ковчег Господень и ящик, бывший при нем, в котором находились золотые вещи, и поставили на большом оном камне; жители же Беф-Шемеша принесли в тот день всесожжения и закололи жертвы Господу.

16 А пять владельцев Филистимских, увидев сие, возвратились в тот день в Екрон.

17 Золотые желваки, которые принесли Филистимляне в жертву повинности Господу, были сии: один от Азота, один от Газы, один от Аскалона, один от Гефа, и один от Екрона.

18 А золотые мыши были - по числу всех городов Филистимских, пяти владельцев, начиная от городов укрепленных и до открытых сел. Большой тот камень, на котором поставили ковчег Господень, находится и до сего дня на поле Иисуса Беф-Шемешского.

19 Из жителей Беф-Шемеша, за то, что они смотрели на ковчег Господень, убил Он пятьдесят тысяч семьдесят человек народа. И заплакал народ, потому что Господь поразил народ поражением великим.

20 И сказали жители Беф-Шемеша: кто может стоять пред Господом, сим святым Богом, и к кому Он пойдет от нас?

21 И послали вестников к жителям Кириаф-Иеарима, чтоб сказать: Филистимляне возвратили ковчег Господень; идите, возьмите его к себе.

2 И призвали Филистимляне жрецов и прорицателей, и сказали: что нам делать с ковчегом Господним? Научите нас, с чем нам отпустить его в свое место?

3 And they said,559 If518 you send7971 away the ark727 of the God430 of Israel,3478 send7971 it not empty;7387 but in any wise return7725 him a trespass817 offering: then227 you shall be healed,7495 and it shall be known3045 to you why4100 his hand3027 is not removed5493 from you.

3 Тогда сказали они: если вы намерены отпустить ковчег Бога Израилева, то не отпускайте его без всего, но принесите ему жертву повинности; тогда исцелитесь, и узнаете, за что не отклоняется от вас рука Его.

4 Then said559 they, What4100 shall be the trespass817 offering which834 we shall return7725 to him? 4 И сказали они: какую жертву повинности должны мы принести Ему? Они сказали: по числу владельцев Филистимских, пять золотых желваков, и пять золотых мышей; поелику казнь одна на всех, и на владельцах ваших.

5 Why you shall make6213 images6754 of your tumors,6076 and images6754 of your mice5909 that mar7843 the land;776 and you shall give5414 glory3519 to the God430 of Israel:3478 peradventure194 he will lighten7043 his hand3027 from off5921 you, and from off5921 your gods,430 and from off5921 your land.776

5 Итак сделайте изображение желваков ваших и изображение мышей ваших, которые опустошают землю, и отдайте в честь Богу Израилеву: тогда может быть отклонит Он руку Свою от вас, и от бога вашего, и от земли вашей.

6 Why4100 then do you harden3513 your hearts,3824 as the Egyptians4714 and Pharaoh6547 hardened3513 their hearts?3820 when834 he had worked5953 wonderfully5953 among them, did they not let the people go,7971 and they departed?3212

6 И для чего вам ожесточать сердце ваше, так, как ожесточили сердце свое Египтяне и Фараон? Когда же он стал действовать против них, то не отпустили ли они их, и не пошли ли они?

7 Now6258 therefore make6213 a new2319 cart,5699 and take3947 two8147 milk5763 cows,6510 on5921 which834 there has come5927 no3808 yoke,5923 and tie631 the cows6510 to the cart,5699 and bring7725 their calves1121 home1004 from them:

7 Итак сделайте одну новую колесницу и возьмите двух телиц дойных, на которых не было ярма; и впрягите сих телиц в колесницу, телят же их возвратите от них домой.

8 And take3947 the ark727 of the LORD,3068 and lay5414 it on the cart;5699 and put7760 the jewels3627 of gold,2091 which834 you return7725 him for a trespass817 offering, in a coffer712 by the side6654 thereof; and send7971 it away, that it may go.1980

8 И возьмите ковчег Господень, и поставьте его на колесницу; а золотые вещи, которые принесете ему в жертву повинности, положите в ящик с боку его, и отпустите его, и пусть пойдет.

9 And see,7200 if518 it goes5927 up by the way1870 of his own coast1366 to Bethshemesh,1053 then he has done6213 us this2063 great1419 evil:7451 but if518 not, then we shall know3045 that it is not his hand3027 that smote5060 us: it was a chance4745 that happened1961 to us.

9 И смотрите, если он пойдет к пределам своим к Беф-Шемешу, то Он сделал нам великое сие зло; если же нет, то мы будем знать, что не Его рука поразила нас, а сделалось это с нами по случаю.

10 И сделали они так; и взяли двух телиц дойных, и впрягли их в колесницу, а телят их удержали дома.

11 And they laid7760 the ark727 of the LORD3068 on the cart,5699 and the coffer712 with the mice5909 of gold2091 and the images6754 of their tumors.2914

11 И поставили ковчег Господень на колесницу, и ящик и золотых мышей, и изображения желваков.

12 И пошли телицы прямо по дороге к Беф-Шемешу; одною дорогою шли и мычали, и не уклонялись ни направо, ни налево; владельцы же Филистимские проводили их до пределов Беф-Шемеша.

16 And when the five2568 lords5633 of the Philistines6430 had seen7200 it, they returned7725 to Ekron6138 the same1931 day.3117

16 А пять владельцев Филистимских, увидев сие, возвратились в тот день в Екрон.

18 А золотые мыши были - по числу всех городов Филистимских, пяти владельцев, начиная от городов укрепленных и до открытых сел. Большой тот камень, на котором поставили ковчег Господень, находится и до сего дня на поле Иисуса Беф-Шемешского.

19 And he smote the men376 of Bethshemesh,1053 because3588 they had looked7200 into the ark727 of the LORD,3068 even he smote5221 of the people5971 fifty2572 thousand505 and three score7657 and ten men:376 and the people5971 lamented,56 because3588 the LORD3068 had smitten5221 many of the people5971 with a great1419 slaughter.4347

19 Из жителей Беф-Шемеша, за то, что они смотрели на ковчег Господень, убил Он пятьдесят тысяч семьдесят человек народа. И заплакал народ, потому что Господь поразил народ поражением великим.

20 And the men582 of Bethshemesh1053 said,559 Who4310 is able3201 to stand5975 before6440 this2088 holy6918 LORD3068 God?430 and to whom4310 shall he go5927 up from us?

20 И сказали жители Беф-Шемеша: кто может стоять пред Господом, сим святым Богом, и к кому Он пойдет от нас?

21 And they sent7971 messengers4397 to the inhabitants3427 of Kirjathjearim,7157 saying,559 The Philistines6430 have brought7725 again7725 the ark727 of the LORD;3068 come3381 you down,3381 and fetch5927 it up to you.

21 И послали вестников к жителям Кириаф-Иеарима, чтоб сказать: Филистимляне возвратили ковчег Господень; идите, возьмите его к себе.
