1 The elders4245 which are among1722 you I exhort,3870 who3588 am also2532 an elder,4850 and a witness3144 of the sufferings3804 of Christ,5547 and also2532 a partaker2844 of the glory1391 that shall be revealed:601

2 Feed4165 the flock4168 of God2316 which is among1722 you, taking the oversight1983 thereof, not by constraint,317 but willingly;1596 not for filthy147 lucre,147 but of a ready4289 mind;4290

3 Neither3366 as being lords2634 over2634 God's2316 heritage,2819 but being1096 ensamples5179 to the flock.4168

4 And when the chief750 Shepherd750 shall appear,5319 you shall receive2865 a crown4735 of glory1391 that fades262 not away.

5 Likewise,3668 you younger,3501 submit5293 yourselves to the elder.4245 Yes,1161 all3956 of you be subject5293 one240 to another,240 and be clothed1463 with humility:5012 for God2316 resists498 the proud,5244 and gives1325 grace5485 to the humble.5011

6 Humble5013 yourselves therefore3767 under5259 the mighty2900 hand5495 of God,2316 that he may exalt5312 you in due2398 time:2540

7 Casting1977 all3956 your5216 care3308 on him; for he cares3199 for you.

8 Be sober,3525 be vigilant;1127 because3754 your5216 adversary476 the devil,1228 as a roaring5612 lion,3023 walks4043 about,4043 seeking2212 whom5101 he may devour:2666

9 Whom3739 resist436 steadfast4731 in the faith,4102 knowing1492 that the same846 afflictions3804 are accomplished2005 in your5216 brothers81 that are in the world.2889

10 But the God2316 of all3956 grace,5485 who3588 has called2564 us to his eternal166 glory1391 by Christ5547 Jesus,2424 after that you have suffered3958 a while,3641 make2675 you perfect,2675 establish,4741 strengthen,4599 settle2311 you.

11 To him be glory1391 and dominion2904 for ever165 and ever.165 Amen.281

12 By Silvanus,4610 a faithful4103 brother80 to you, as I suppose,3049 I have written1125 briefly,1223 3641 exhorting,3870 and testifying1957 that this5026 is the true227 grace5485 of God2316 wherein1519 3757 you stand.2476

1 Пресвитеров ваших прошу я, сопресвитер и свидетель Христовых страданий и участник имеющей открыться славы:

2 пасите стадо Божие, какое у вас, с бдительным вниманием, не по принуждению, но добровольно, как угодно Богу, и не ища постыдной наживы, но из усердия,

3 и не как господствующие над уделами, но подавая пример стаду;

4 и когда явится Пастыреначальник, вы получите неувядающий венец славы.

5 Также и молодые, подчиняйтесь пресвитерам; все же, подчиняясь друг другу, облекитесь в смиренномудрие, потому что Бог гордым противится, смиренным же дает благодать.

6 Итак, смиритесь под крепкую руку Божию, чтобы Он вознёс вас в Свое время;

7 возложите всякую заботу вашу на Него, потому что Он печётся о вас.

8 Трезвитесь и бодрствуйте: противник ваш диавол ходит, как лев рыкающий, ищущий кого поглотить.

9 Противостаньте ему твердой верой, зная, что такие же страдания постигают ваших братьев в мире.

10 Бог же всякой благодати, призвавший вас в вечную Свою славу во Христе, Сам, по кратковременном страдании вашем, усовершит вас, утвердит, укрепит, соделает непоколебимыми.

11 Ему держава во веки веков, аминь.

12 Чрез Силуана, верного, как думаю, брата, я пишу вам вкратце, увещая и свидетельствуя, что это истинная благодать Божия, в которой и стойте.

13 Приветствует вас церковь, которая в Вавилоне, избранная, как и вы, а также Марк, сын мой.

14 Приветствуйте друг друга поцелуем любви. Мир вам всем, которые во Христе.
