2 Da sandte Isebel348 einen Boten4397 zu Elia452 und7760 ließ7971 ihm sagen559: Die Götter430 tun6213 mir dies und das, wo ich nicht3254 morgen4279 um diese Zeit6256 deiner See LE5315 tue wie dieser Seelen5315 einer259!

2 Then Jezebel348 sent7971 a messenger4397 to Elijah,452 saying,559 So3541 let the gods430 do6213 to me, and more3254 also,3541 if I make7760 not your life5315 as the life5315 of one259 of them by to morrow4279 about this time.6256

3 Da er das sah7200, machte er sich auf6965 und ging935, wo er hin3212 wollte, und kam gen Berseba in Juda3063 und ließ3240 seinen Knaben5288 daselbst.

3 And when he saw7200 that, he arose,6965 and went3212 for his life,5315 and came935 to Beersheba,884 which834 belongs to Judah,3063 and left5117 his servant5288 there.8033

4 Er aber ging1980 hin in die Wüste4057 eine259 Tagreise; und kam935 hinein und setzte sich3427 unter einen3117 Wacholder7574 und bat7592, daß seine See LE5315 stürbe4191, und sprach559: Es ist3947 genug7227; nimm nun, HErr3068, meine See LE5315! Ich bin nicht besser2896 denn meine Väter1.

4 But he himself1931 went1980 a day's3117 journey1870 into the wilderness,4057 and came935 and sat3427 down under8478 a juniper7574 tree: and he requested7592 for himself5315 that he might die;4191 and said,559 It is enough;7227 now,6258 O LORD,3068 take3947 away my life;5315 for I am not better2896 than my fathers.1

5 Und legte sich7901 und schlief3462 unter dem259 Wacholder7574. Und siehe, der Engel4397 rührete ihn und sprach559 zu ihm: Stehe auf6965 und iß398!

5 And as he lay7901 and slept3462 under8478 a juniper7574 tree, behold,2009 then an angel4397 touched5060 him, and said559 to him, Arise6965 and eat.398

6 Und er sah sich um, und siehe5027, zu seinen Häupten4763 lag ein geröstet Brot5692 und eine Kanne6835 mit Wasser4325. Und da er gegessen398 und getrunken8354 hatte, legte er sich wieder7725 schlafen7901.

6 And he looked,5027 and, behold,2009 there was a cake5692 baked on the coals,7529 and a cruse6835 of water4325 at his head.4763 And he did eat398 and drink,8354 and laid7901 him down7901 again.7725

7 Und der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 kam5060 zum andernmal8145 wieder7725 und rührete ihn und sprach559: Stehe auf6965 und iß398; denn du hast einen großen7227 Weg1870 vor dir.

7 And the angel4397 of the LORD3068 came7725 again7725 the second8145 time, and touched5060 him, and said,559 Arise6965 and eat;398 because3588 the journey1870 is too great7227 for you.

8 Und er stund auf6965 und aß398 und trank8354; und ging3212 durch Kraft3581 derselben Speise396 vierzig705 Tage3117 und vierzig705 Nächte3915 bis an den Berg2022 Gottes430 Horeb2722.

8 And he arose,6965 and did eat398 and drink,8354 and went3212 in the strength3581 of that meat396 forty705 days3117 and forty705 nights3915 to Horeb2722 the mount2022 of God.430

9 Und kam935 daselbst in eine Höhle4631 und blieb daselbst über Nacht3885. Und siehe, das Wort1697 des HErrn3068 kam zu ihm und sprach559 zu ihm: Was machst du hie, Elia452?

9 And he came935 thither8033 to a cave,4631 and lodged3885 there;8033 and, behold,2009 the word1697 of the LORD3068 came to him, and he said559 to him, What4100 do you here,6311 Elijah?452

10 Er sprach559: Ich habe7065 geeifert7065 um den HErrn3068, den GOtt430 Zeboath; denn die Kinder1121 Israel3478 haben deinen Bund1285 verlassen5800 und deine Altäre4196 zerbrochen2040 und deine Propheten5030 mit dem Schwert2719 erwürget2026; und ich bin allein überblieben, und sie stehen1245 danach, daß sie mir mein Leben5315 nehmen3947.

10 And he said,559 I have been very jealous7065 for the LORD3068 God430 of hosts:6635 for the children1121 of Israel3478 have forsaken5800 your covenant,1285 thrown2040 down2040 your altars,4196 and slain2026 your prophets5030 with the sword;2719 and I, even I only,905 am left;3498 and they seek1245 my life,5315 to take3947 it away.

11 Er sprach559: Gehe5674 heraus und tritt auf5975 den Berg2022 vor6440 den HErrn. Und siehe, der HErr3068 ging3318 vorüber, und ein großer1419, starker2389 Wind7307, der die Berge2022 zerriß6561 und die Felsen5553 zerbrach7665, vor dem HErrn her; der HErr aber war nicht7307 im Winde. Nach310 dem Winde aber kam ein Erdbeben7494; aber der HErr war nicht7307 im Erdbeben7494.

11 And he said,559 Go3318 forth,3318 and stand5975 on the mount2022 before6440 the LORD.3068 And, behold,2009 the LORD3068 passed5674 by, and a great1419 and strong2389 wind7307 rent6561 the mountains,2022 and broke7665 in pieces the rocks5553 before6440 the LORD;3068 but the LORD3068 was not in the wind:7307 and after310 the wind7307 an earthquake;7494 but the LORD3068 was not in the earthquake:7494

12 Und nach310 dem Erdbeben7494 kam ein Feuer784; aber der HErr3068 war nicht im Feuer784. Und nach310 dem Feuer784 kam ein still sanftes1851 Sausen6963.

12 And after310 the earthquake7494 a fire;784 but the LORD3068 was not in the fire:784 and after310 the fire784 a still1827 small1851 voice.6963

13 Da das Elia452 hörete, verhüllete er sein Antlitz mit3874 seinem Mantel155 und ging3318 heraus und trat5975 in6440 die Tür6607 der Höhle4631. Und siehe, da kam eine Stimme6963 zu ihm und sprach559: Was hast8085 du hie zu tun, Elia452?

13 And it was so, when Elijah452 heard8085 it, that he wrapped3874 his face6440 in his mantle,155 and went3318 out, and stood5975 in the entering6607 in of the cave.4631 And, behold,2009 there came1961 a voice6963 to him, and said,559 What4100 do you here,6311 Elijah?452

14 Er sprach559: Ich habe7065 um den HErrn3068, den GOtt430 Zebaoth6635, geeifert7065; denn die Kinder1121 Israel3478 haben deinen Bund1285 verlassen5800, deine Altäre4196 zerbrochen2040, deine Propheten5030 mit dem Schwert2719 erwürget2026; und ich bin allein überblieben, und sie stehen1245 danach, daß sie mir das Leben5315 nehmen3947.

15 Aber der HErr3068 sprach559 zu ihm: Gehe3212 wiederum7725 deines Weges1870 durch935 die Wüste4057 gen Damaskus1834; und geh hinein und salbe4886 Hasael2371 zum Könige4428 über Syrien758

15 And the LORD3068 said559 to him, Go,3212 return7725 on your way1870 to the wilderness4057 of Damascus:1834 and when you come,935 anoint4886 Hazael2371 to be king4428 over5921 Syria:758

16 und Jehu3058, den Sohn1121 Nimsis5250, zum Könige4428 über Israel3478 und Elisa477, den Sohn1121 Saphats8202, von Abel-Mehola65, zum Propheten5030 an deiner Statt.

16 And Jehu3058 the son1121 of Nimshi5250 shall you anoint4886 to be king4428 over5921 Israel:3478 and Elisha477 the son1121 of Shaphat8202 of Abelmeholah65 shall you anoint4886 to be prophet5030 in your room.8478

17 Und soll geschehen, daß3058, wer dem Schwert2719 Hasaels2371 entrinnet, den soll Jehu3058 töten4191, und wer dem Schwert2719 Jehus entrinnet den soll Elisa477 töten4191.
|
17 And it shall come1961 to pass, that him that escapes4422 the sword2719 of Hazael2371 shall Jehu3058 slay:4191 and him that escapes4422 from the sword2719 of Jehu3058 shall Elisha477 slay.4191

18 Und7651 ich will lassen7604 überbleiben siebentausend in Israel3478, nämlich alle Kniee1290, die sich3766 nicht gebeuget haben vor Baal1168, und allen Mund6310, der ihn nicht geküsset hat5401.
|
18 Yet I have left7604 me seven7651 thousand505 in Israel,3478 all3605 the knees1290 which834 have not bowed3766 to Baal,1168 and every3605 mouth6310 which834 has not kissed5401 him.

19 Und er ging5674 von dannen und fand4672 Elisa477, den Sohn1121 Saphats8202, daß er pflügete mit zwölf6240 Jochen6776 vor sich hin3212; und er war selbst unter den Zwölfen. Und Elia452 ging zu ihm und warf7993 seinen Mantel155 auf6440 ihn.

19 So he departed3212 there,8033 and found4672 Elisha477 the son1121 of Shaphat,8202 who1931 was plowing2790 with twelve8147 6240 yoke6776 of oxen before6440 him, and he with the twelfth:8147 6240 and Elijah452 passed5674 by him, and cast7993 his mantle155 on him.

20 Er7323 aber ließ5800 die Rinder1241 und lief Elia452 nach310 und sprach559: Laß mich meinen Vater1 und meine Mutter517 küssen5401, so will ich dir310 nachfolgen. Er sprach559 zu ihm: Gehe3212 hin3212 und komm wieder7725; denn ich habe6213 etwas mit dir zu tun.

20 And he left5800 the oxen,1241 and ran7323 after310 Elijah,452 and said,559 Let me, I pray4994 you, kiss5401 my father1 and my mother,517 and then I will follow3212 310 you. And he said559 to him, Go3212 back7725 again:7725 for what4100 have I done6213 to you?

21 Und310 er lief wieder7725 von ihm und nahm3947 ein Joch6776 Rinder1241 und opferte2076 es; und kochte1310 das Fleisch1320 mit dem Holzwerk3627 an den Rindern1241 und gab‘s5414 dem Volk5971, daß sie aßen398. Und machte sich3212 auf6965 und folgte Elia452 nach310 und dienete ihm.

21 And he returned7725 back7725 from him, and took3947 a yoke6776 of oxen,1241 and slew2076 them, and boiled1310 their flesh1320 with the instruments3627 of the oxen,1241 and gave5414 to the people,5971 and they did eat.398 Then he arose,6965 and went3212 after310 Elijah,452 and ministered8334 to him.
