2 Und3092 wenn du dahin kommst935, wirst du daselbst sehen7200 Jehu3058, den Sohn1121 Josaphats, des Sohns Nimsis5250. Und1121 gehe935 hinein935 und heiß ihn aufstehen6965 unter8432 seinen Brüdern251 und führe ihn in die innerste2315 Kammer2315.

3 Und nimm3947 den Ölkrug6378 und schütte3332 es auf6605 sein Haupt7218 und sprich559: So sagt der HErr3068: Ich559 habe dich zum Könige4428 über Israel3478 gesalbet. Und sollst die Tür1817 auftun und fliehen5127 und nicht verziehen2442.

4 Und der Jüngling5288 des Propheten5030, der Knabe5288, ging hin3212 gen Ramoth in Gilead1568.

5 Und2428 da er hineinkam, siehe, da saßen die3427 Hauptleute8269 des Heers. Und er sprach559: Ich habe935 dir, Hauptmann8269, was zu sagen1697. Jehu3058 sprach559: Welchem unter uns allen? Er sprach559: Dir, Hauptmann8269.

6 Da stund er auf und ging935 hinein. Er aber schüttete3332 das Öl8081 auf sein Haupt7218 und sprach559 zu ihm3478: So sagt der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Israels3478: Ich559 habe6965 dich zum Könige4428 gesalbet über des HErrn3068 Volk5971 Israel1004.

7 Und256 du sollst das Haus1004 Ahabs, deines Herrn113, schlagen5221, daß ich das Blut1818 der Propheten5030, meiner Knechte5650, und das Blut1818 aller Knechte5650 des HErrn3068 räche5358 von der Hand3027 Isebels348,

8 daß das ganze Haus1004 Ahabs umkomme6. Und256 ich will von Ahab256 ausrotten3772 den, der an die Wand7023 pisset, und den Verschlossenen6113 und Verlassenen5800 in Israel3478.

9 Und256 will das Haus1004 Ahabs machen5414 wie das Haus1004 Jerobeams3379, des Sohns Nebats5028, und1121 wie das Haus1004 Baesas1201, des Sohns Ahias281.

10 Und2506 die Hunde3611 sollen Isebel348 fressen398 auf dem Acker zu Jesreel3157, und soll sie niemand begraben6912. Und er tat6605 die Tür1817 auf und floh5127.

11 Und da Jehu3058 herausging zu den Knechten5650 seines Herrn113, sprach559 man zu ihm: Stehet es wohl7965? Warum ist935 dieser Rasende7696 zu dir kommen3318? Er sprach559 zu ihnen: Ihr3045 kennet doch den Mann376 wohl, und was er sagt7879.

13 Da eileten sie4116, und nahm3947 ein376 jeglicher sein Kleid899 und legte7760 es unter ihn auf die hohen1634 Stufen4609, und bliesen8628 mit der Posaune7782 und sprachen559: Jehu3058 ist König4427 worden!

14 Also machte Jehu3058, der Sohn1121 Josaphats3092, des Sohns Nimsis5250, einen Bund7194 wider Joram3141. Joram3141 aber1121 lag vor6440 Ramoth in Gilead1568 mit dem ganzen Israel3478 wider Hasael2371, den König4428 zu8104 Syrien758.

15 Joram3088 aber, der König4428, war wiederkommen, daß er5221 sich7725 heilen7495 ließe zu Jesreel3157 von den5315 Schlägen4347, die ihm die Syrer758 geschlagen hatten5046, da er stritt3898 mit Hasael2371 dem Könige4428 zu Syrien761. Und Jehu3058 sprach559: Ist3426‘s euer Gemüt, so soll niemand408 entrinnen6412 aus3318 der Stadt5892, daß er hingehe3212 und ansage zu Jesreel3157.

16 Und er3058 ließ3381 sich7392 führen und zog3212 gen Jesreel3157, denn Joram3141 lag7901 daselbst; so war Ahasja274, der König4428 Judas, hinabgezogen, Joram3141 zu besehen.

17 Der Wächter6822 aber, der auf5975 dem Turm4026 zu Jesreel3157 stund, sah7200 den Haufen8229 Jehus3058 kommen und sprach559: Ich sehe7200 einen Haufen8229. Da sprach559 Joram3088: Nimm3947 einen Reiter7395 und sende7971 ihnen entgegen7125 und sprich559: Ist‘s935 Friede7965?

18 Und559 der Reiter7392 ritt hin3212 ihm entgegen7125 und sprach559: So sagt der König4428: Ist‘s Friede7965? Jehu3058 sprach559: Was gehet dich5437 der Friede7965 an5046? Wende dich hinter310 mich! Der Wächter6822 verkündigte und sprach559: Der Bote4397 ist zu ihnen kommen und kommt935 nicht wieder7725.

19 Da5483 sandte er einen andern8145 Reiter7392. Da310 der zu ihm kam935, sprach559 er: So spricht559 der König4428: Ist‘s Friede7965? Jehu3058 sprach559: Was gehet dich5437 der Friede7965 an? Wende dich hinter mich7971!

20 Das verkündigte5046 der Wächter6822 und1121 sprach559: Er3058 ist zu ihnen kommen und kommt935 nicht wieder7725. Und es ist ein Treiben4491, wie das Treiben4491 Jehus, des Sohns Nimsis5250; denn er treibt5090, wie er unsinnig wäre7697.

21 Da sprach559 Joram3088: Spannet631 an631! Und3318 man4672 spannete seinen Wagen7393 an; und sie zogen aus3318, Joram3088, der König4428 Israels3478, und Ahasja274, der König4428 Judas, ein376 jeglicher auf seinem Wagen7393, daß sie Jehu3058 entgegenkämen; und sie trafen ihn7125 an auf dem Acker2513 Naboths5022, des Jesreeliten3158.

22 Und5704 da Joram3088 Jehu3058 sah7200, sprach559 er: Jehu3058, ist‘s Friede7965? Er aber sprach559: Was Friede7965? Deiner Mutter517 Isebel348 Hurerei2183 und Zauberei3785 wird immer größer7227.

23 Da wandte2015 Joram3088 seine Hand3027 und floh5127 und sprach559 zu Ahasja274: Es ist Verräterei4820, Ahasja274!

24 Aber Jehu3058 fassete den Bogen7198 und4390 schoß5221 Joram3088 zwischen die Arme2220, daß der Pfeil2678 durch3027 sein Herz3820 ausfuhr; und fiel3318 in seinen Wagen7393.

25 Und er sprach559 zum Ritter7991 Bidekar920: Nimm5375 und wirf7993 ihn7392 aufs Stück2513 Acker7704 Naboths5022, des Jesreeliten3158. Denn ich gedenke2142, daß du mit6776 mir310 auf5375 einem Wagen seinem Vater1 Ahab256 nachfuhrest, daß der HErr3068 solche Last4853 über ihn hub.

26 Was gilt‘s, sprach5002 der HErr3068, ich will dir das Blut1818 Naboths5022 und seiner Kinder1121, das ich gestern570 sah7200, vergelten7999 auf diesem Acker2513. So nimm5375 nun und wirf7993 ihn3068 auf den Acker2513 nach dem Wort1697 des HErrn3068.

27 Da310 das Ahasja274, der König4428 Judas, sah7200, floh5127 er des Weges1870 zum Hause1004 des Gartens1588. Jehu3058 aber jagte ihm nach7291 und559 hieß ihn auch schlagen5221 auf dem Wagen4818 gen Gur1483 hinan4608, die bei Jeblaam liegt. Und er floh5127 gen Megiddo4023 und starb4191 daselbst.

28 Und seine Knechte5650 ließen ihn führen7392 gen Jerusalem3389 und begruben6912 ihn in seinem Grabe6900 mit seinen Vätern1 in der Stadt5892 Davids1732.

29 Ahasja274 aber1121 regierete über Juda3063 im elften Jahr8141 Jorams3141, des Sohns Ahabs256.

30 Und7760 da Jehu3058 gen Jesreel3157 kam935, und3190 Isebel348 das erfuhr8085, schminkte sie ihr Angesicht5869 und schmückte ihr Haupt7218 und guckte8259 zum Fenster2474 aus.

31 Und da Jehu3058 unter das Tor8179 kam935, sprach559 sie2026: Ist‘s Simri2174 wohl7965 gegangen, der seinen Herrn113 erwürgete?

32 Und er hub sein Angesicht8259 auf5375 zum Fenster2474 und sprach559: Wer ist8147 bei mir6440 hie? Da wandten sich zween oder drei7969 Kämmerer5631 zu ihm.

33 Er sprach559: Stürzet sie herab8058! Und sie stürzten sie herab8058, daß die Wand7023 und die Rosse5483 mit ihrem Blut1818 besprenget wurden5137; und sie ward zertreten7429.

34 Und da er hineinkam und gegessen398 und getrunken8354 hatte, sprach559 er: Besehet doch die Verfluchte779 und begrabet6912 sie6485; denn sie ist935 eines Königs4428 Tochter1323.

35 Da sie aber hingingen3212, sie zu begraben6912, fanden4672 sie nichts von3027 ihr denn518 den Schädel1538 und Füße7272 und ihre flachen Hände3709.

36 Und2506 kamen wieder7725 und sagten‘s559 ihm an3027. Er aber sprach559: Es ist‘s, das1697 der HErr3068 geredet hat1696 durch seinen Knecht5650 Elia452, den Thisbiten, und gesagt5046: Auf dem Acker Jesreels3157 sollen die Hunde3611 der Isebel348 Fleisch1320 fressen398.

37 Also war das Aas5038 Isebels348 wie Kot1828 auf6440 dem Felde7704 im Acker2506 Jesreels3157, daß man559 nicht sagen konnte: Das ist Isebel348.

1 THEN Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, Gird up your loins and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramath-gilead;

2 And when you get there, look for Jehu the son of Jimshi, and go in and make him arise up from among his brethren, and bring him into an inner chamber;

3 Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head, and say to him, Thus says the LORD, I have anointed you king over my people Israel. Then open the door and flee, and do not tarry.

4 So the young prophet went to Ramath-gilead.

5 And when he came in, behold, the commanders of the army were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to you, O commander. And Jehu said, To which of us? And he said to him, To you, O commander.

6 And he arose and went into an inner chamber; and he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

7 And you shall smite the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

8 For I will destroy the whole house of Ahab, and I will cut off from Ahab every male and every one in authority in Israel;

9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah;

10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the inheritance of Naboth in Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door and fled.

11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord; and they said to him, Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you? And he said to them, You know the man, and his folly.

12 And they said to him, You are lying; tell us now. And he said to them, Thus and thus he spoke to me, saying, Thus says the LORD: I have anointed you king over Israel.

13 Then they hastened and took every man his garment and put it under him on the top of the stairs and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

14 So Jehu the son of Jimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was holding Ramath-gilead, he and all Israel with him because of Hazael king of Aram.

15 But King Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him when he fought against Hazael king of Aram.) And Jehu said, If it please you, let no one go forth nor escape out of the city to tell it in Jezreel.

16 So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram the son of Ahab who was sick in Jezreel.

17 And the watchman was standing on the tower of Jezreel, and he saw the chariot of Jehu as it was coming, and the watchman said, I see chariots. And Joram said, Take a chariot and send it to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

18 So there went a horseman to meet him and said to him, Thus says the king: Is it peace? And Jehu said. What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he did not return.

19 Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said. Thus says the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me.

20 And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Jimshi; for he drives furiously.

21 And Joram said, Make ready. And they made ready chariots. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went to meet Jehu and they met him in the field of Naboth the Jezreelite.

22 And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And Jehu answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

23 Then Joram turned back and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah!

24 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Joram in his back, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.

25 Then Jehu said to Bar-dekar his mighty man, Take him up, and cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for I remember how when you and I were driving together after Ahab his father, and the LORD said this thing against him;

26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, says the LORD; and I will requite you in this field, says the LORD. Now therefore take him up and cast him into the field, according to the word of the LORD. So they cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite.

27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu pursued him, and said, Slay him also, and they slew him in his chariot at the ascent of the mound, which is by Nebleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

28 And his servants took him and carried him (in a chariot) to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.

30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyelids with kohl, and adorned her head, and looked out a window.

31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, you Zimri, murderer of his master?

32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? And there looked out at him two or three eunuchs.

33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and the horses entered and trod her under foot.

34 Then he went in to eat and drink, and he said, See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter.

35 And they went to bury her; but they found no more of her than her skull and her feet and the palms of her hands.

36 And when they returned, they told him, and he said, This is the word of the LORD which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the field of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel;

37 And the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse upon the face of the field of Jezreel; and there will be none to bury her, so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

20 And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Jimshi; for he drives furiously.

21 And Joram said, Make ready. And they made ready chariots. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went to meet Jehu and they met him in the field of Naboth the Jezreelite.

22 And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And Jehu answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

23 Then Joram turned back and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah!

24 Aber Jehu3058 fassete den Bogen7198 und4390 schoß5221 Joram3088 zwischen die Arme2220, daß der Pfeil2678 durch3027 sein Herz3820 ausfuhr; und fiel3318 in seinen Wagen7393.

24 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Joram in his back, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.

25 Und er sprach559 zum Ritter7991 Bidekar920: Nimm5375 und wirf7993 ihn7392 aufs Stück2513 Acker7704 Naboths5022, des Jesreeliten3158. Denn ich gedenke2142, daß du mit6776 mir310 auf5375 einem Wagen seinem Vater1 Ahab256 nachfuhrest, daß der HErr3068 solche Last4853 über ihn hub.

25 Then Jehu said to Bar-dekar his mighty man, Take him up, and cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for I remember how when you and I were driving together after Ahab his father, and the LORD said this thing against him;

26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, says the LORD; and I will requite you in this field, says the LORD. Now therefore take him up and cast him into the field, according to the word of the LORD. So they cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite.

27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu pursued him, and said, Slay him also, and they slew him in his chariot at the ascent of the mound, which is by Nebleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

28 And his servants took him and carried him (in a chariot) to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

29 Ahasja274 aber1121 regierete über Juda3063 im elften Jahr8141 Jorams3141, des Sohns Ahabs256.

29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.

30 Und7760 da Jehu3058 gen Jesreel3157 kam935, und3190 Isebel348 das erfuhr8085, schminkte sie ihr Angesicht5869 und schmückte ihr Haupt7218 und guckte8259 zum Fenster2474 aus.

30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyelids with kohl, and adorned her head, and looked out a window.

31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Is it peace, you Zimri, murderer of his master?

32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? And there looked out at him two or three eunuchs.

33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and the horses entered and trod her under foot.

34 Und da er hineinkam und gegessen398 und getrunken8354 hatte, sprach559 er: Besehet doch die Verfluchte779 und begrabet6912 sie6485; denn sie ist935 eines Königs4428 Tochter1323.

34 Then he went in to eat and drink, and he said, See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king's daughter.

35 Da sie aber hingingen3212, sie zu begraben6912, fanden4672 sie nichts von3027 ihr denn518 den Schädel1538 und Füße7272 und ihre flachen Hände3709.

35 And they went to bury her; but they found no more of her than her skull and her feet and the palms of her hands.

36 And when they returned, they told him, and he said, This is the word of the LORD which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the field of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel;
