Kapitel 7

1 Also kamen935 die Leute582 von Kiriath-Jearim7157 und holeten die Lade727 des HErrn3068 hinauf5927 und brachten935 sie6942 ins Haus1004 Abinadabs41 zu Gibea1389; und seinen Sohn1121 Eleasar499 heiligten sie8104, daß er der Lade727 des HErrn3068 hütete.

2 Und von dem7235 Tage3117 an, da310 die Lade727 des HErrn3068 zu Kiriath-Jearim7157 blieb3427, verzog sich die Zeit3117 so lange, bis zwanzig6242 Jahre8141 wurden; und das ganze Haus1004 Israel3478 weinete vor dem HErrn.

3 Samuel8050 aber sprach559 zu3559 dem ganzen Hause1004 Israel3478: So ihr euch7725 mit ganzem Herzen3824 bekehret zu dem HErrn3068, so tut von euch5493 die fremden5236 Götter430 und559 Astharoth6252 und richtet euer Herz3824 zu dem HErrn3068 und dienet5647 ihm allein, so wird er euch erretten5337 aus8432 der Philister6430 Hand3027.

4 Da taten5493 die Kinder1121 Israel3478 von sich Baalim1168 und5647 Astharoth6252 und dieneten dem HErrn3068 allein.

5 Samuel8050 aber sprach559: Versammelt6908 das ganze Israel3478 gen Mizpa4708, daß ich für euch bitte6419 zum HErrn3068.

6 Und sie kamen zusammen6908 gen Mizpa4709 und schöpften7579 Wasser4325 und gossen es aus8210 vor6440 dem HErrn3068; und fasteten6684 denselben Tag3117 und sprachen559 daselbst: Wir haben2398 dem HErrn3068 gesündiget. Also richtete8199 Samuel8050 die Kinder1121 Israel3478 zu Mizpa4708.

7 Da aber die Philister6430 höreten, daß die Kinder1121 Israel3478 zusammenkommen waren6908 gen Mizpa4708, zogen die Fürsten5633 der Philister6430 hinauf5927 wider Israel3478. Da das8085 die Kinder1121 Israel3478 höreten, fürchteten3372 sie8085 sich vor6440 den Philistern6430

8 und1121 sprachen559 zu Samuel8050: Laß2790 nicht ab, für uns zu schreien2199 zu dem HErrn3068, unserm GOtt430, daß er uns helfe3467 aus der Philister6430 Hand3027.

9 Samuel8050 nahm3947 ein259 Milchlämmlein2461 und opferte5927 dem HErrn3068 ein ganz3632 Brandopfer5930 und schrie2199 zum HErrn3068 für Israel3478; und der HErr3068 erhörete ihn.

10 Und indem Samuel8050 das Brandopfer5930 opferte, kamen5927 die Philister6430 herzu5066, zu streiten4421 wider Israel3478. Aber der HErr3068 ließ donnern7481 einen großen1419 Donner6963 über die Philister6430 desselben Tages3117 und schreckte2000 sie, daß sie vor6440 Israel3478 geschlagen5062 wurden.

11 Da zogen die Männer582 Israels3478 aus3318 von Mizpa4709 und jagten7291 die Philister6430 und schlugen5221 sie bis unter Beth-Kar1033.

12 Da nahm3947 Samuel8050 einen259 Stein68 und setzte7760 ihn8034 zwischen Mizpa4709 und Sen8129; und hieß7121 ihn Eben-Ezer72 und sprach559: Bis hieher hat uns der HErr3068 geholfen5826.

13 Also wurden die Philister6430 gedämpfet und kamen935 nicht3254 mehr in die Grenze1366 Israels3478; und die Hand3027 des HErrn3068 war wider die Philister6430, solange Samuel8050 lebte3117.

14 Also wurden Israel3478 die Städte5892 wieder7725, die die Philister6430 ihnen genommen hatten, von Ekron6138 an bis gen Gath1661 samt ihren Grenzen1366; die errettete5337 Israel3478 von der Hand3027 der Philister6430; denn Israel3478 hatte3947 Frieden7965 mit den Amoritern567.

15 Samuel8050 aber richtete8199 Israel3478 sein Leben lang.

16 Und zog1980 jährlich8141 umher5437 zu Bethel und Gilgal1537 und Mizpa4709. Und wenn1767 er Israel3478 an allen diesen Orten4725 gerichtet hatte8199,

17 kam8666 er1129 wieder gen Ramath, denn da war sein Haus1004; und richtete8199 Israel3478 daselbst und bauete dem HErrn3068 daselbst einen Altar4196.

Chapter 7

1 AND the men of Koriath-narin came, and took up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill, and Abinadab consecrated Eleazar his son, who kept the ark of the LORD.

2 And it came to pass, from the day that the ark abode in Koriath-narin, that the time was long; for it was about twenty years; and all the house of Israel yearned after the LORD.

3 Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, If you return with all your heart to the LORD, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your heart unto the LORD, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

4 So the children of Israel put away Baal and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel at Mizpeh, and I will pray for you to the LORD.

6 And they gathered together at Mizpeh, and drew water and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel at Mizpeh.

7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Do not cease to pray before the LORD our God for us, that he may save us from the hand of the Philistines.

9 And Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it for a burnt offering wholly to the LORD; and Samuel prayed before the LORD for the children of Israel; and the LORD answered him.

10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day against the Philistines, and threw them into confusion; and they were defeated before Israel.

11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh and pursued the Philistines and smote them as far as below Beth-jashan.

12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpeh and Beth-jashan, and called its name Rock of Help, and he said, Hitherto the LORD has helped us.

13 So the Philistines were defeated, and they came no more into the territory of Israel; and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

14 And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel from Ekron even to Gath, and the boundaries thereof. Thus the LORD delivered Israel from the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

16 And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth-el and Gilgal and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

17 And he always returned to Ramtha; for there was his house, and there he judged Israel, and there he built an altar to the LORD.
