Das erste Buch der Könige

Kapitel 11

1 Aber der König4428 Salomo8010 liebte157 viel7227 ausländischer Weiber802: die Tochter1323 Pharaos6547 und moabitische4125, ammonitische5984, edomitische130, zidonitische und hethitische2850,

2 von solchen Völkern1471, davon der HErr3068 gesagt559 hatte935 den Kindern1121 Israel3478: Gehet nicht zu ihnen und430 lasset sie nicht zu euch310 kommen935; sie werden gewiß403 eure Herzen3824 neigen5186 ihren Göttern nach. An diesen hing1692 Salomo8010 mit Liebe157.

3 Und3967 er hatte5186 siebenhundert7651 Weiber802 zu Frauen8282 und dreihundert3967 Kebsweiber6370; und seine Weiber802 neigeten sein Herz3820.

4 Und430 da6256 er8010 nun alt2209 war, neigeten seine Weiber802 sein Herz3824 fremden312 Göttern nach310, daß sein Herz3824 nicht ganz8003 war mit dem HErrn3068, seinem GOtt430, wie das Herz3824 seines Vaters1 David1732.

5 Also wandelte3212 Salomo8010 Asthoreth6253, dem GOtt430 derer von Zidon nach310, und310 Milkom4445, dem Greuel8251 der Ammoniter5984.

6 Und4390 Salomo8010 tat6213, das dem HErrn3068 übel gefiel5869, und310 folgte nicht7451 gänzlich dem HErrn3068 wie sein Vater1 David1732.

7 Da bauete Salomo8010 eine Höhe1116 Kamos3645, dem Greuel8251 der Moabiter4124, auf6440 dem Berge2022, der vor Jerusalem3389 liegt, und1129 Molech, dem Greuel8251 der Ammoniter1121.

8 Also tat6213 Salomo allen seinen5237 ausländischen Weibern802, die ihren Göttern430 räucherten6999 und2076 opferten.

9 Der HErr3068 aber ward zornig599 über Salomo8010, daß sein Herz3824 von dem HErrn3068, dem GOtt430 Israels3478, geneiget war5186, der ihm zweimal6471 erschienen7200 war

10 und310 ihm solches1697 geboten hatte6680, daß er nicht andern312 Göttern nachwandelte3212, und430 doch er nicht gehalten8104 hatte6680, was ihm der HErr3068 geboten hatte.

11 Darum sprach559 der HErr3068 zu Salomo8010: Weil solches bei dir geschehen ist und hast meinen Bund1285 und meine Gebote2708 nicht gehalten8104, die ich dir geboten6680 habe, so will7167 ich auch das Königreich4467 von dir reißen7167 und deinem Knechte5650 geben5414.

12 Doch bei deiner Zeit3117 will ich‘s nicht tun6213 um deines Vaters1 David1732 willen, sondern von der Hand3027 deines Sohnes1121 will ich‘s reißen7167.

13 Doch will ich nicht das ganze Reich4467 abreißen7167. Einen259 Stamm7626 will ich deinem Sohne gehen um Davids1732 willen, meines Knechts5650, und7535 um Jerusalems3389 willen, die1121 ich erwählet habe5414.

14 Und4428 der HErr3068 erweckte6965 Salomo8010 einen Widersacher7854, Hadad1908, den Edomiter130, von königlichem Samen2233, welcher war in Edom123.

15 Denn da David1732 in Edom123 war und Joab3097, der Feldhauptmann8269, hinaufzog5927, die Erschlagenen2491 zu begraben6912, schlug5221 er, was Mannsbilde war, in Edom123.

16 Denn Joab3097 blieb3427 sechs8337 Monden2320 daselbst und das3772 ganze Israel3478, bis er ausrottete alles, was Mannsbilde war in Edom123.

17 Da floh1272 Hadad111 und mit ihm etliche582 Männer der Edomiter130 von seines Vaters1 Knechten5650, daß sie nach Ägypten4714 kämen. Hadad1908 aber war935 ein junger6996 Knabe5288.

18 Und sie559 machten sich auf6965 von Midian4080 und kamen935 gen Paran; und nahmen3947 Leute582 mit sich aus Paran und kamen935 nach Ägypten4714 zu Pharao6547, dem Könige4428 in Ägypten4714; der gab5414 ihm ein Haus1004 und Nahrung3899 und gab5414 ihm ein Land776 ein.

19 Und Hadad1908 fand4672 große3966 Gnade2580 vor5869 dem Pharao6547, daß er ihm auch seines Weibes802 Thachpenes8472, der Königin1377, Schwester269 zum Weibe802 gab5414.

20 Und die Schwester269 Thachpenes8472 gebar3205 ihm Genubath1592, seinen Sohn1121; und Thachpenes8472 zog1580 ihn auf8432 im Hause1004 Pharaos6547, daß Genubath1592 war im Hause1004 Pharaos6547 unter8432 den Kindern1121 Pharaos6547.

21 Da nun Hadad1908 hörete in Ägypten4714, daß David1732 entschlafen7901 war4191 mit seinen Vätern1, und daß Joab3097, der Feldhauptmann8269, tot war, sprach559 er3212 zu8085 Pharao6547: Laß mich in mein Land776 ziehen7971.

22 Pharao6547 sprach559 zu ihm: Was fehlet dir bei mir, daß du1245 willst in dein Land776 ziehen3212? Er sprach559: Nichts; aber laß mich7971 ziehen7971!

23 Auch erweckte ihm6965 GOtt430 einen Widersacher7854, Reson7331, den Sohn1121 Eljadas450, der von seinem Herrn113 Hadadeser1909, dem Könige4428 zu Zoba6678, geflohen1272 war.

24 Und sammelte6908 wider ihn Männer582 und ward4427 ein3427 Hauptmann8269 der Kriegsknechte, da sie2026 David1732 erwürgete; und zogen3212 gen Damaskus1834 und wohneten daselbst und regierten zu Damaskus1834.

25 Und er war Israels3478 Widersacher7854, solange Salomo8010 lebte3117. Das ist der Schade, den Hadad1908 litt; darum hatte er einen Ekel wider Israel3478 und ward König4427 über Syrien758.

26 Dazu Jerobeam3379, der Sohn1121 Nebats5028, ein Ephrater von Zareda, Salomos8010 Knecht5650 (und seine Mutter517 hieß8034 Zeruga6871, eine802 Witwe490), der hub auch die Hand3027 auf7311 wider den König4428.

27 Und das1697 ist7311 die Sache, darum er1129 die Hand3027 wider den König4428 aufhub: Da Salomo8010 Millo4407 bauete, verschloß5462 er eine Lücke6556 an der Stadt5892 Davids1732, seines Vaters1.

28 Und6213 Jerobeam3379 war ein streitbarer2428 Mann376. Und da Salomo8010 sah7200, daß der Knabe5288 aufrichtig war, setzte er ihn3130 über6485 alle Last5447 des Hauses1004 Josephs.

29 Es begab sich3680 aber zu der Zeit6256, daß Jerobeam3379 ausging von3318 Jerusalem3389, und es traf4672 ihn an der Prophet5030 Ahia281 von Silo7888 auf dem Wege1870, und hatte einen neuen2319 Mantel8008 an; und waren die beiden allein im Felde7704.

30 Und Ahia281 fassete den neuen2319 Mantel8008, den er anhatte, und riß7167 ihn8610 in zwölf6240 Stücke7168.

31 Und sprach559 zu Jerobeam3379: Nimm3947 zehn6235 Stücke7168 zu dir. Denn so spricht559 der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Israels3478: Siehe, ich will das Königreich4467 von der Hand3027 Salomos8010 reißen7167 und dir zehn6235 Stämme7626 geben5414.

32 Einen259 Stamm7626 soll er haben um meines Knechts David1732 willen und5650 um der Stadt5892 Jerusalem3389 willen, die ich erwählet habe977 aus allen Stämmen7626 Israels3478,

33 darum daß sie mich verlassen5800 und6213 angebetet haben7812 Asthoreth6253, den GOtt430 der Zidonier, Kamos3645, den GOtt430 der Moabiter4124, und Milkom4445, den GOtt430 der Kinder1121 Ammon5983, und nicht gewandelt haben1980 in meinen Wegen1870, daß sie täten, was mir wohlgefällt, meine Gebote4941 und Rechte2708, wie David1732, sein5869 Vater1.

34 Ich will auch nicht das ganze Reich4467 aus seiner Hand3027 nehmen3947, sondern ich will ihn zum Fürsten5387 machen7896 sein8104 Leben lang um David1732, meines Knechts5650, willen, den ich erwählet habe, der meine Gebote4687 und3117 Rechte2708 gehalten hat977.

35 Aus der Hand3027 seines Sohns will5414 ich das Königreich4410 nehmen3947; und1121 will dir zehn6235 Stämme7626

36 und seinem Sohn1121 einen Stamm7626 geben5414, auf6440 daß David1732, mein Knecht5650, vor3117 mir eine259 Leuchte5216 habe977 allewege in der Stadt5892 Jerusalem3389, die ich mir erwählet habe7760, daß ich meinen Namen8034 dahin stelle.

37 So will ich nun dich nehmen3947, daß du regierest über alles, was dein Herz5315 begehret, und4428 sollst König4427 sein über Israel3478.

38 Wirst du nun gehorchen allem, das ich dir gebieten werde6680, und in meinen Wegen1870 wandeln1980 und tun, was mir gefällt3477, daß du haltest8104 meine Rechte2708 und Gebote4687, wie mein Knecht5650 David1732 getan6213 hat8085, so will1129 ich mit dir sein5869 und dir ein beständig Haus1004 bauen1129, wie ich David1732 gebauet habe6213, und will dir Israel3478 geben5414.

39 Und will den Samen2233 Davids1732 um deswillen demütigen6031, doch nicht ewiglich3117.

40 Salomo8010 aber trachtete1245, Jerobeam3379 zu töten4194. Da machte sich Jerobeam3379 auf6965 und floh1272 nach Ägypten4714 zu Sisak7895, dem Könige4428 in Ägypten4714; und blieb in Ägypten4714, bis daß Salomo8010 starb4191.

41 Was mehr von Salomo8010 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 alles1697, was er getan6213 hat, und seine Weisheit2451, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 von Salomo8010.

42 Die Zeit3117 aber, die Salomo8010 König4427 war zu Jerusalem3389 über ganz Israel3478, ist vierzig705 Jahre8141.

43 Und Salomo8010 entschlief7901 mit seinen Vätern1 und ward begraben6912 in der Stadt5892 Davids1732, seines Vaters1. Und sein Sohn1121 Rehabeam7346 ward König4427 an seiner Statt.

Chapter 11

1 BUT King Solomon loved many foreign women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Ammonites, Moabites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD had said to the children of Israel, You shall not mix with them, neither shall they mix with you, lest they turn away your heart after their gods; Solomon clung to these in love.

3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.

4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

5 For Solomon went after Ashtaroth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and after Malcom the god of the Ammonites.

6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

7 Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the god of Moab, on the mountain that is before Jerusalem, and for Malcom the god of the Ammonites.

8 And likewise did he for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.

9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,

10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he kept not that which the LORD commanded him.

11 Therefore the LORD said to Solomon, Forasmuch as you have done this, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes and my commandments, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.

12 Nevertheless, in your days I will not do it for David my servant's sake; but I will rend it out of the hand of your son.

13 However I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to your son for David my servant's sake and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen.

14 And the LORD stirred up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the royal family in Edom.

15 For when David destroyed Edom, and Joab the commander of the army went up to bury the slain, he slew every male in Edom

16 (For Joab and all Israel with him remained there six months, until he had slain every male in Edom);

17 But Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites from among his father's servants into Egypt, Hadad being yet a little boy.

18 They set out from Midian and came to Paran; and they took men with them out of Paran and went into Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house and food, and said to him, Dwell with me; and gave him land.

19 And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.

20 And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.

21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers and that Joab the commander of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh. Let me depart that I may go to my own country.

22 But Pharaoh said to him, What have you lacked with me that, behold, you seek to go to your own country? And he answered, Nothing; but do let me go.

23 God also stirred up against Solomon another adversary, Hidron the son of Eliadah, who had fled from his lord Hadarezer king of Zobah;

24 And he gathered men to him, and became captain over a band, when David slew the people of Zobah; and they went to Damascus and dwelt in it, and Hadad reigned in Damascus.

25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, because of the evil which he did; and Hadad oppressed the children of Israel and reigned over Aram (Syria).

26 And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zedda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zoriah, a widow, even he lifted up his hand against King Solomon.

27 And this was the reason why he lifted up his hand against King Solomon. When Solomon built Millo and repaired the breaches of the city of David,

28 The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour; and Solomon, seeing that the young man was valiant, made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.

29 And it came to pass at the time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite encountered him on the road; and Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and the two of them were alone in a field;

30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces;

31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you

32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel);

33 Because he has forsaken me and has worshipped Ashtaroth the goddess of the Zidonians, and Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Malcom the god of the Ammonites, and has not walked in my ways and has not done that which is right in my eyes and has not kept my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.

34 Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him a ruler all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose because he kept my commandments and my statutes;

35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand and will give it to you, ten tribes.

36 And to his son I will give one tribe, that David my servant may have an heir always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.

37 And I will give it to you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and you shall be king over Israel.

38 And if you shall hearken to all that I command you and will walk in my ways and do what is right in my sight and keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did. I will be with you, and build you a sure house, as I built for David my servant, and will give Israel to you.

39 And for this I will afflict the descendants of David, but not for ever.

40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon and all that he did and his wisdom, behold, they are written in the Book of the Acts of Solomon.

42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

43 And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

24 Und sammelte6908 wider ihn Männer582 und ward4427 ein3427 Hauptmann8269 der Kriegsknechte, da sie2026 David1732 erwürgete; und zogen3212 gen Damaskus1834 und wohneten daselbst und regierten zu Damaskus1834.

24 And he gathered men to him, and became captain over a band, when David slew the people of Zobah; and they went to Damascus and dwelt in it, and Hadad reigned in Damascus.

25 Und er war Israels3478 Widersacher7854, solange Salomo8010 lebte3117. Das ist der Schade, den Hadad1908 litt; darum hatte er einen Ekel wider Israel3478 und ward König4427 über Syrien758.

25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, because of the evil which he did; and Hadad oppressed the children of Israel and reigned over Aram (Syria).

26 Dazu Jerobeam3379, der Sohn1121 Nebats5028, ein Ephrater von Zareda, Salomos8010 Knecht5650 (und seine Mutter517 hieß8034 Zeruga6871, eine802 Witwe490), der hub auch die Hand3027 auf7311 wider den König4428.

26 And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zedda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zoriah, a widow, even he lifted up his hand against King Solomon.

27 Und das1697 ist7311 die Sache, darum er1129 die Hand3027 wider den König4428 aufhub: Da Salomo8010 Millo4407 bauete, verschloß5462 er eine Lücke6556 an der Stadt5892 Davids1732, seines Vaters1.

27 And this was the reason why he lifted up his hand against King Solomon. When Solomon built Millo and repaired the breaches of the city of David,

28 Und6213 Jerobeam3379 war ein streitbarer2428 Mann376. Und da Salomo8010 sah7200, daß der Knabe5288 aufrichtig war, setzte er ihn3130 über6485 alle Last5447 des Hauses1004 Josephs.

28 The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour; and Solomon, seeing that the young man was valiant, made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.

29 Es begab sich3680 aber zu der Zeit6256, daß Jerobeam3379 ausging von3318 Jerusalem3389, und es traf4672 ihn an der Prophet5030 Ahia281 von Silo7888 auf dem Wege1870, und hatte einen neuen2319 Mantel8008 an; und waren die beiden allein im Felde7704.

29 And it came to pass at the time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite encountered him on the road; and Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and the two of them were alone in a field;

30 Und Ahia281 fassete den neuen2319 Mantel8008, den er anhatte, und riß7167 ihn8610 in zwölf6240 Stücke7168.

30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces;

31 Und sprach559 zu Jerobeam3379: Nimm3947 zehn6235 Stücke7168 zu dir. Denn so spricht559 der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Israels3478: Siehe, ich will das Königreich4467 von der Hand3027 Salomos8010 reißen7167 und dir zehn6235 Stämme7626 geben5414.

31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to you

32 Einen259 Stamm7626 soll er haben um meines Knechts David1732 willen und5650 um der Stadt5892 Jerusalem3389 willen, die ich erwählet habe977 aus allen Stämmen7626 Israels3478,

32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel);

33 darum daß sie mich verlassen5800 und6213 angebetet haben7812 Asthoreth6253, den GOtt430 der Zidonier, Kamos3645, den GOtt430 der Moabiter4124, und Milkom4445, den GOtt430 der Kinder1121 Ammon5983, und nicht gewandelt haben1980 in meinen Wegen1870, daß sie täten, was mir wohlgefällt, meine Gebote4941 und Rechte2708, wie David1732, sein5869 Vater1.

34 Ich will auch nicht das ganze Reich4467 aus seiner Hand3027 nehmen3947, sondern ich will ihn zum Fürsten5387 machen7896 sein8104 Leben lang um David1732, meines Knechts5650, willen, den ich erwählet habe, der meine Gebote4687 und3117 Rechte2708 gehalten hat977.

34 Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; but I will make him a ruler all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose because he kept my commandments and my statutes;

35 Aus der Hand3027 seines Sohns will5414 ich das Königreich4410 nehmen3947; und1121 will dir zehn6235 Stämme7626

35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand and will give it to you, ten tribes.

36 und seinem Sohn1121 einen Stamm7626 geben5414, auf6440 daß David1732, mein Knecht5650, vor3117 mir eine259 Leuchte5216 habe977 allewege in der Stadt5892 Jerusalem3389, die ich mir erwählet habe7760, daß ich meinen Namen8034 dahin stelle.

36 And to his son I will give one tribe, that David my servant may have an heir always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there.

37 So will ich nun dich nehmen3947, daß du regierest über alles, was dein Herz5315 begehret, und4428 sollst König4427 sein über Israel3478.

37 And I will give it to you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and you shall be king over Israel.

38 Wirst du nun gehorchen allem, das ich dir gebieten werde6680, und in meinen Wegen1870 wandeln1980 und tun, was mir gefällt3477, daß du haltest8104 meine Rechte2708 und Gebote4687, wie mein Knecht5650 David1732 getan6213 hat8085, so will1129 ich mit dir sein5869 und dir ein beständig Haus1004 bauen1129, wie ich David1732 gebauet habe6213, und will dir Israel3478 geben5414.

38 And if you shall hearken to all that I command you and will walk in my ways and do what is right in my sight and keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did. I will be with you, and build you a sure house, as I built for David my servant, and will give Israel to you.

39 Und will den Samen2233 Davids1732 um deswillen demütigen6031, doch nicht ewiglich3117.

39 And for this I will afflict the descendants of David, but not for ever.

40 Salomo8010 aber trachtete1245, Jerobeam3379 zu töten4194. Da machte sich Jerobeam3379 auf6965 und floh1272 nach Ägypten4714 zu Sisak7895, dem Könige4428 in Ägypten4714; und blieb in Ägypten4714, bis daß Salomo8010 starb4191.

40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

41 Was mehr von Salomo8010 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 alles1697, was er getan6213 hat, und seine Weisheit2451, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 von Salomo8010.

41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon and all that he did and his wisdom, behold, they are written in the Book of the Acts of Solomon.

42 Die Zeit3117 aber, die Salomo8010 König4427 war zu Jerusalem3389 über ganz Israel3478, ist vierzig705 Jahre8141.

42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

43 Und Salomo8010 entschlief7901 mit seinen Vätern1 und ward begraben6912 in der Stadt5892 Davids1732, seines Vaters1. Und sein Sohn1121 Rehabeam7346 ward König4427 an seiner Statt.

43 And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
