2 Und559 David1732 hieß versammeln3664 die Fremdlinge1616, die im Lande Israel3478 waren, und5975 bestellete Steinmetzen2672, Steine1496 zu hauen, das776 Haus1004 Gottes430 zu bauen1129.

3 Und5178 David1732 bereitete viel7230 Eisens1270 zu3559 Nägeln4548 an die Türen8179 in den Toren1817, und was zu nageln wäre, und so viel7230 Erzes, daß nicht zu wägen4948 war;

4 auch Zedernholz730 ohne Zahl4557; denn die von Zidon und6086 Tyrus6876 brachten935 viel7230 Zedernholz730 zu David1732.

5 Denn David1732 gedachte559: Mein Sohn1121 Salomo8010 ist1431 ein Knabe5288 und zart7390; das776 Haus1004 aber, das dem HErrn3068 soll gebauet werden7230, soll groß4605 sein3559, daß sein Name8034 und Ruhm8597 erhaben werde1129 in allen Landen; darum will ich ihm Vorrat schaffen3559. Also schaffte David1732 viel Vorrats vor6440 seinem Tode4194.

6 Und er rief7121 seinem Sohn1121 Salomo8010 und gebot6680 ihm, zu bauen1129 das Haus1004 des HErrn3068, des Gottes430 Israels3478.

7 Und sprach559 zu ihm1732: Mein Sohn1121, ich hatte es im Sinn3824, dem Namen8034 des HErrn3068, meines Gottes430, ein Haus1004 zu bauen1129.

8 Aber das Wort1697 des HErrn3068 kam zu6213 mir und sprach559: Du hast viel7230 Bluts1818 vergossen8210 und große1419 Kriege4421 geführt, darum sollst du meinem Namen8034 nicht ein Haus1004 bauen1129, weil du so7227 viel Bluts1818 auf6440 die Erde776 vergossen8210 hast vor mir.

9 Siehe, der Sohn1121, der dir geboren soll werden3205, der wird ein ruhiger Mann376 sein; denn ich will ihn ruhen5117 lassen von allen seinen Feinden341 umher5439; denn er soll Salomo8010 heißen8034; denn ich will Frieden7965 und3117 Ruhe4496 geben5414 über Israel3478 sein Leben lang.

10 Der soll meinem Namen8034 ein Haus1004 bauen1129. Er soll mein Sohn1121 sein, und ich will sein Vater1 sein. Und ich will seinen königlichen4438 Stuhl3678 über Israel3478 bestätigen3559 ewiglich5704.

11 So wird6743 nun, mein Sohn1121, der HErr3068 mit dir sein, und wirst glückselig sein, daß du dem HErrn3068, deinem GOtt430, ein Haus1004 bauest, wie er1129 von dir geredet hat1696.

12 Auch wird der HErr3068 dir geben5414 Klugheit7922 und Verstand998 und wird dir Israel3478 befehlen6680, daß du haltest8104 das Gesetz8451 des HErrn3068, deines Gottes30.

13 Dann aber wirst du glückselig sein8104, wenn du dich hältst, daß du tuest nach den Geboten6680 und6213 Rechten2706, die der HErr3068 Mose4872 geboten hat4941 an Israel3478. Sei553 getrost2388 und unverzagt; fürchte3372 dich nicht6743 und zage nicht2865!

14 Siehe, ich habe3559 in meiner Armut verschafft zum Hause1004 des HErrn3068 hunderttausend3967 Zentner3603 Goldes2091 und5178 tausendmal505 tausend505 Zentner3603 Silbers3701, dazu Erz und Eisen1270 ohne Zahl4948, denn es ist sein zu3559 viel. Auch Holz6086 und Steine68 habe ich geschickt; des magst du noch3254 mehr7230 machen.

15 So hast du viel7230 Arbeiter4399, Steinmetzen2672 und6213 Zimmerleute2796 an Stein68 und Holz6086 und allerlei Weisen2450 auf allerlei Arbeit4399,

16 an Gold2091, Silber3701, Erz und5178 Eisen1270 ohne Zahl4557. So mache6213 dich auf und richte6965 es aus; der HErr3068 wird mit dir sein.

17 Und David1732 gebot6680 allen Obersten8269 Israels3478, daß sie seinem Sohn1121 Salomo8010 hülfen5826.

18 Ist3533 nicht der HErr3068, euer GOtt430, mit euch und hat euch Ruhe5117 gegeben5414 umher5439? Denn er hat die Einwohner3427 des Landes776 in eure Hände3027 gegeben, und das Land776 ist untergebracht vor6440 dem HErrn3068 und vor6440 seinem Volk5971.

19 So gebet nun euer Herz3824 und5414 eure See LE5315, den HErrn3068, euren GOtt430, zu suchen1875. Und1129 machet euch auf6965 und bauet1129 GOtt430 dem HErrn3068 ein Heiligtum4720, daß man die Lade727 des Bundes1285 des HErrn3068 und die heiligen6944 Gefäße3627 Gottes430 ins Haus1004 bringe935, das dem Namen8034 des HErrn3068 gebauet soll werden.

Chapter 22

1 THEN David said, This is the house of the LORD God and this is the altar of the burnt offerings for Israel.

2 And David commanded to gather together all the proselytes who were in the land of Israel, to make some of them stonecutters to hew stones for the house of the LORD;

3 And to make some of them blacksmiths to forge iron to make axes and hatchets for hewing stones. And David prepared bars of iron, and brass in abundance without weight;

4 Also cedar trees in abundance; for the Tyrians and the Sidonians brought much cedar wood to David.

5 And David said, Solomon my son is still a small boy, and concerning him it is said in the book that he will build a house to the LORD which will be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries; I will therefore prepare everything necessary for it while I am living. So David prepared everything that was needed for the house, and lacked nothing.

6 Then he called for Solomon his son and said to him,

7 You shall build a house for the LORD God of Israel;

8 For he has sent to me by a prophet, saying, You have shed blood abundantly and have made great wars; you shall not build a house to my name because you have shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

9 Behold. a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of peace; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; for his name shall be Solomon, and there shall be peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

10 He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be to me like a son, and I will be to him like a father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you, so that you may prosper, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said to me.

12 Only may the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God, just as he has commanded you.

13 Then you shall prosper if you take heed to observe these commandments and the statutes and judgments just as the LORD charged Moses to teach Israel, then you will be strong and of good courage; fear not, nor be dismayed.

14 Now, behold, I have prepared for you everything necessary for the building of the house of the LORD. I have prepared for you a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver; and brass and iron without weight; no man knows its weight, for it is in abundance; timber also and stones I have prepared; and you may add thereto.

15 Moreover there are workers with you in abundance, stonecutters, masons, and carpenters,

16 Cunning men for every manner of work; of gold, silver, brass, and iron in abundance. Be strong therefore and be doing, and the LORD will help you.

17 David also commanded all the elders of Israel, saying, You must help Solomon my son.

18 For behold, the LORD your God is with you; and he will help you and relieve you on every side. Behold he has delivered all the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and the land is subdued before the LORD and before his people.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to pray before the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, and bring there the ark in which is the covenant of the LORD our God, and the holy vessels of the LORD our God; and build the house because of his great name by which we are known.
