2 Und David1732 merkte3045, daß ihn der HErr3068 zum Könige4428 über4605 Israel3478 bestätiget hatte3559; denn sein Königreich4438 stieg auf5375 um seines Volks5971 Israel3478 willen.

3 Und1732 David1732 nahm3947 noch mehr Weiber802 zu Jerusalem3389 und zeugete noch mehr Söhne1121 und Töchter1323.

4 Und die8034 ihm zu Jerusalem3389 geboren3205 wurden, hießen also: Sammua8051, Sobab7727, Nathan5416, Salomo8010,

5 Jebehar, Elisua474, Elpalet,

6 Nogah5052, Nepheg5298, Japhia3309,

7 Elisama476, Baeljada1182, Eliphalet.

8 Und6430 da die Philister6430 höreten, daß David1732 zum Könige4428 gesalbet war4886 über ganz Israel3478, zogen sie1245 alle herauf, David1732 zu8085 suchen. Da das8085 David1732 hörete, zog5927 er aus3318 gegen6440 sie.

9 Und die Philister6430 kamen935 und ließen sich nieder6584 im Grunde6010 Rephaim7497.

10 David1732 aber fragte7592 GOtt430 und sprach559: Soll ich hinaufziehen5927 wider die Philister6430, und willst du sie in meine Hand3027 geben5414? Der HErr3068 sprach559 zu ihm: Zeuch hinauf5927, ich habe sie in deine Hände3027 gegeben5414.

11 Und da sie6555 hinaufzogen gen Baal-Prazim, schlug5221 sie David1732 daselbst. Und David1732 sprach559: GOtt430 hat5927 meine Feinde341 durch meine Hand3027 zertrennet, wie sich das Wasser4325 trennet. Daher hießen7121 sie die8034 Stätte4725 Baal-Prazim.

12 Und sie5800 ließen ihre Götter430 daselbst; da hieß sie559 David1732 mit Feuer784 verbrennen8313.

13 Aber die Philister6430 machten sich wieder3254 daran und taten sich nieder6584 im Grunde6010.

14 Und David1732 fragte7592 abermal GOtt430; und GOtt430 sprach559 zu ihm: Du sollst nicht hinaufziehen hinter310 ihnen her935, sondern lenke dich5437 von ihnen, daß du an5927 sie kommest gegen den Maulbeerbäumen1057.

15 Wenn du dann wirst hören das Rauschen6963 oben7218 auf6440 den Maulbeerbäumen1057 einhergehen6807, so fahre heraus3318 zum Streit4421; denn GOtt430 ist da vor dir3318 ausgezogen; zu8085 schlagen5221 der Philister6430 Heer4264.

16 Und David1732 tat, wie ihm GOtt430 geboten hatte6213; und sie6680 schlugen5221 das Heer4264 der Philister6430 von Gibeon1391 an bis gen Gaser.

17 Und Davids1732 Name8034 brach aus in allen Landen776, und der HErr3068 ließ5414 seine Furcht6343 über alle Heiden1471 kommen3318.

Chapter 14

1 NOW Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build a house for him.

2 And David perceived that the LORD had chosen him to be king over Israel, for his kingdom was exalted because of his people Israel.

3 And David took more wives in Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron, and there were born to him more sons and daughters.

4 Now these are the names of the children who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shocob, Nathan, and Solomon.

5 Ibhar, Elisha, Eliphalet.

6 Nogah, Nepheg, and Naphia,

7 And Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphalet.

8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

9 And the Philistines came and encamped in the valley of giants.

10 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into my hands? And the LORD said to him, Go up; for I will deliver them into your hands.

11 So they came up to the valley of Toretha, and David smote them there. Then David said. The LORD has broken in upon my enemies before me like the breaking forth of waters; therefore they called the name of that place the valley of Toretha.

12 And when they had left their idols there, David gave a commandment to his mighty men, saying. Burn them with fire and scatter their ashes to the wind.

13 And the Philistines came up again and encamped in the valley of giants.

14 Therefore David inquired again of God; and God said to him, You shall not go up after them; but turn away from them, and go attack them from the front.

15 And it shall be, when you hear the sound of howling in the top of the mountain, then you shall go out to battle; for the LORD has gone forth before you to smite the army of the Philistines.

16 And David therefore did as the LORD commanded him; and they smote the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gadar.

17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all the nations.
