2 And David1732 said559 to Ahimelech288 the priest,3548 The king4428 has commanded6680 me a business,1697 and has said559 to me, Let no408 man376 know3045 any3972 thing1697 of the business1697 about which834 I send7971 you, and what834 I have commanded6680 you: and I have appointed3045 my servants5288 to such492 and such492 a place.4725

3 David1732 sprach559 zu Ahimelech288, dem Priester: Der König4428 hat6680 mir eine Sache1697 befohlen6680 und3548 sprach559 zu mir: Laß niemand376 wissen3045, warum ich3045 dich4725 gesandt7971 habe1697 und was ich dir befohlen habe. Denn ich habe auch meine Knaben5288 etwa hie oder daher beschieden.

3 Now therefore what4100 is under8478 your hand?3027 give5414 me five2568 loaves of bread3899 in my hand,3027 or176 what there is present.4672

4 Hast3426 du nun was unter deiner Hand3027, ein Brot3899 oder fünf2568, die gib5414 mir in meine Hand3027, oder was du findest4672.

4 And the priest3548 answered6030 David,1732 and said,559 There is no369 common2455 bread3899 under8478 my hand,3027 but there is hallowed6944 bread;3899 if518 the young5288 men have kept8104 themselves at389 least389 from women.802

5 Der Priester antwortete6030 David1732 und3548 sprach559: Ich habe3426 kein gemein Brot3899 unter meiner Hand3027, sondern heilig6944 Brot3899; wenn sich nur8104 die Knaben5288 von Weibern802 enthalten hätten!

5 And David1732 answered6030 the priest,3548 and said559 to him, Of a truth3588 518 women802 have been kept6113 from us about these three8032 days,8543 since I came3318 out, and the vessels3627 of the young5288 men are holy,6944 and the bread is in a manner1870 common,2455 yes,637 though3588 it were sanctified6942 this day3117 in the vessel.3627

6 David1732 antwortete6030 dem Priester und3548 sprach559 zu ihm: Es sind518 die6942 Weiber802 drei8032 Tage8543 uns versperret gewesen6113, da ich auszog, und der Knaben5288 Zeug3627 war heilig6944; ist aber dieser Weg1870 unheilig2455, so wird er heute3117 geheiliget werden3318 an dem Zeuge.

6 So the priest3548 gave5414 him hallowed6944 bread: for there was no3808 bread3899 there8033 but the show bread,3899 6440 that was taken5493 from before6440 the LORD,3068 to put7760 hot2527 bread3899 in the day3117 when it was taken3947 away.

7 Da gab5414 ihm6440 der Priester3548 des heiligen6944, weil kein ander Brot3899 da war denn die Schaubrote, die man vor6440 dem HErrn3068 aufhub, daß man ander frisch Brot auflegen sollte des Tages3117, da er5493 die weggenommen hatte7760.

7 Now a certain man376 of the servants5650 of Saul7586 was there that day,3117 detained6113 before6440 the LORD;3068 and his name8034 was Doeg,1673 an Edomite,130 the most chief47 of the herdsmen7462 that belonged to Saul.7586

8 Es war aber des Tages3117 ein Mann376 drinnen versperret vor dem HErrn3068 aus den Knechten5650 Sauls7586 mit Namen8034 Doeg1673, ein Edomiter130, der mächtigste47 unter6440 den Hirten7462 Sauls7586.

8 And David1732 said559 to Ahimelech,288 And is there not here6311 under8478 your hand3027 spear2595 or176 sword?2719 for I have neither1571 3808 brought3947 my sword2719 nor1571 my weapons3627 with me, because3588 the king's4428 business1697 required1961 haste.5169

9 Und David1732 sprach559 zu Ahimelech288: Ist3426 nicht371 hie unter3027 deiner Hand3027 ein Spieß2595 oder Schwert2719? Ich habe3947 mein Schwert2719 und Waffen3627 nicht mit mir genommen; denn die Sache1697 des Königs4428 war1961 eilend5169.

9 And the priest3548 said,559 The sword2719 of Goliath1555 the Philistine,6430 whom834 you slew5221 in the valley6010 of Elah,425 behold,2009 it is here wrapped3874 in a cloth8071 behind310 the ephod:646 if518 you will take3947 that, take3947 it: for there is no369 other312 save2108 that here.2088 And David1732 said,559 There is none369 like that; give5414 it me.

10 Der Priester3548 sprach559: Das2088 Schwert2719 des Philisters6430 Goliath1555, den du5221 schlugest im Eichgrunde6010, das ist3947 hie, gewickelt3874 in einen312 Mantel8071 hinter310 dem Leibrock646. Willst du dasselbige, so nimm‘s hin, denn2108 es ist3947 hie kein anderes denn das. David1732 sprach559: Es ist seinesgleichen nicht; gib5414 mir‘s!

10 And David1732 arose 6965and fled1272 that day3117 for fear6440 of Saul,7586 and went935 to Achish397 the king4428 of Gath.1661

11 Und David1732 machte sich auf6965 und floh1272 vor3117 Saul7586; und kam935 zu Achis397, dem Könige4428 zu Gath1661.

11 And the servants5650 of Achish397 said559 to him, Is not this2088 David1732 the king4428 of the land?776 did they not sing6030 one to another of him in dances,4246 saying,559 Saul7586 has slain5221 his thousands,505 and David1732 his ten7233 thousands?7233

12 Aber die Knechte5650 Achis397 sprachen559 zu ihm: Das2088 ist der David1732, des Landes776 König4428, von dem sie sangen6030 am Reigen4246 und sprachen559: Saul7586 schlug5221 tausend505, David1732 aber zehntausend7233.

12 And David1732 laid7760 up these428 words1697 in his heart,3824 and was sore3966 afraid3372 of Achish397 the king4428 of Gath.1661

13 And he changed8138 his behavior2940 before5869 them, and feigned himself mad1984 in their hands,3027 and scrabbled8427 on5921 the doors1817 of the gate,8179 and let his spittle7388 fall3381 down3381 on his beard.2206

14 Und verstellete seine Gebärde2940 vor5869 ihnen und kollerte unter ihren Händen3027 und stieß sich1984 an die Tür1817 am Tor8179, und sein Geifer7388 floß3381 ihm in den Bart2206.

14 Then said559 Achish397 to his servants,5650 See,2009 you see7200 the man376 is mad:7696 why4100 then have you brought935 him to me?

15 Da sprach559 Achis397 zu seinen Knechten5650: Siehe7200, ihr sehet, daß der Mann376 unsinnig ist7696; warum habt ihr ihn zu mir gebracht935?

15 Have I need2638 of mad7696 men, that you have brought935 this2088 fellow to play the mad7696 man in my presence?5921 shall this2088 fellow come935 into413 my house?1004

16 Habe935 ich der Unsinnigen7696 zu wenig2638, daß ihr diesen herbrächtet, daß er neben mir rasete? Sollte der in mein Haus1004 kommen935?
